The Beast Inside

It is a gruesome monstrosity
That craves your every vitality
It hides in the suffocating shadows of the room
Smiling, laughing, revelling in your pain
The howl and beat the desk as a result of it
And it laughs on, always on, always a sick game

Your happiness is the prey and it is the hunter
When it catches you it causes a mental thunder
Forces you to your bony knees
You cannot comprehend what the monster is doing
It is above us, behind us, everywhere the pain is
And its bite, its bite, the pain is gruelling

It is horrible to feel the helplessness its venom ensues
You lie paralysed without power to choose
You want to fight it oh so badly
But you can't raise a fist against the beast
You are forced to watch as it crawls inside you
And now it sits in your heart, sucking like a bloated leach

No-one is safe from the menace of the shadows
It tempts and controls with the crooked ladders
They lead you way from the golden light
Lead you away from determination's fight
The beast who forces you from your destination
The black-blooded, misery-loving leech is procrastination

This one's a bit of a joke xD. btw I may not be able to keep up the 3-4 poems a day I've been doing but I'll try. Thanks for reading.
