The ultimate penalty
Capital punishment
The ultimate deterrent
But a true injustice? When we look at it finely, the punishment lacks purpose
In the event where one's unlawful acts surface
Instead of learning and changing in the chains of a jail cell
They are never given the chance to make their ways well
Put down before they could shine their light on the world
The condemned, learning nothing from this penalty's girthThe punishment is meant to be completely painless
But can anyone truly say that is the case?
Lethal interjection, firing squads and electrocution may seem so
But do we judge them with haste?
The brain is intelligent, and if there are mistakes made
The penalty could turn into one of torturous enslavingMost of all, this is undeniably hypocritical
In punishing one with what they may have committed
If the goal is true punishment, the penalty should teach
That these are things we should not do, instead of preach
Because there is a moral of this cruel song
We kill people who kill people
Because killing people is wrong
