Reflection

We hold them close
Form bonds ever so deep
We feed and spoil them
They are what we keep

We imprison and restrict them
Use them as sources of income
Many are mindful of their health
But to some, they are mere sums

We beat them savagely
We experiment on them cruelly
We harvest them for meat
And look at them untruly

But when we look into the eyes of an animal
What do we see looking back so clearly?
Do they truly experience human emotions?
Or is it just a reflection of our own feelings?
