Counterfeit Penny

I take
I steal
I copy and plagiarise

I thief
I envy
I observe and impersonate

I scatter myself into the many
I've stolen enough for plenty
They call me the counterfeit penny

They say there's something wrong with my character
I let opportunity control my loyalty
But when we look you're the one seething

I steal your very identity, you can't do nothin'
Your patterns and habits, I just love 'em
I can take it away, as long as it's somethin'

Stealing is wrong? You can't give me that
You hand it to me on a silver platter
To take it is a simple matter

The reason I take your pennies
Is cause you're just part of the many
And you add to my title as the counterfeit penny

You talk high and righteously about me stealing your identity
But let me let you in on a rather shocking reality
It one thing nobody can steal
Is originality
