Depth

Be careful with complexity
And the layers you manicure
And the depths you sink

We live in a world of deep blue
Abyssal beauty of those whom
Send their soul searching
Set up walls furthering
The distance
To the shore

Grow distant, you retreat
Metacognition ceases to speak
And even if it does
The ones you love
The ones you hate
Drift away, to another place

You think so much
You take pride in your sophistication
But sinking, sinking
Into the deep blue
Loosing and releasing
Inevitable loneliness ensues

Your soul is now too deep
For what the others can
See, as they always swam
In the shallow end
Your mind floats in Zen

Everything is now unkempt
All alone, in depth
