True Alchemy

You get in what you put out
Such is the law of equivalent exchange
Yet what if you valiantly cry and shout
But someone wins with a whisper ever lame

The ones that stand on this worldly podium
Are seldom ever honest winners
They put in a pint of sodium
And cheat to create gold from it

Clearly the laws of alchemy do not correspond
Because they are lying, cheating thieves
The reason they can say "I've won"
Is because they have trodden on believers

People who thought this world was fair
And were trampled in the race to the win
They worked hard and took care
But others worked smart and cunning

The lying cheaters are among us
Unfaithful alchemists that always win
So the question truly is
Are you prepared to be with them?
