Cinematic Discrimination

A beautiful movie plays in our earthly cinema
Everything good is big and everything bad is bigger
Or so they would have us believe
But what they neglect to tell us is the real villains
The darkest, truest root of our problems
lie through the special effects, behind the scenes
The directors position us to see what they want
The manipulation is seldom known in the cinema seats

The directors orchestrate life's discrimination
Mean words, people shot dead is obviously the only way
But the prudent and reclusive know better
Those who watch behind the big screen and into society
It is the subtle discrimination that puts you ahead or behind
Choosing to help the other actor with the line
When one actor tries to obtain a better role
Rejecting them: with no other motive but coward's privilege

Are you one of the actors, or, god forbid, the audience?
Those who watch this occurring and point to the screen?
The screen is exciting and interesting, true
But is it worth staring at the blood with the skulls under your seat?
Ignorance is not an excuse, it is a forbidden crime
There is still time to stare beyond the big screen
Stare into the subtle injustices and secret lies
Ask yourself: What is really happening under the guise?

Eh. Probably not as good as my other poems on racism but oh well. Thanks for reading!
