Behind the Veil

Each person has an omniscient veil
Behind it lies the truth
With the wings of disguise they set sail
Into sanity's own doom

Smiles and shouts he is on the exterior
Deathly secrets within
On each side he is cheerful and delirious
Positivity, yet wallowing about what could have been

Behind the veil of that one girl
Or in between the seams of him
Lie a foggy, transparent world
Where not even his bright eyes glint

She laughs in the daytime with sparkling eyes
But behind the veil of omniscience
Her pillow is stained with the stinging lies
The sparkle is quelled by the tears of maleficence

He is confident and daring when he charges into battle
But in his room he lies broken
His pores burn with icy wickedness, he is battered
He places his head in his bony hands, unspoken

Venturing behind each person's veil
Is an intimidating feat
For that person will wail
And soon you too will bleat

However, like all things in life, it will grow
What goes on will spread and cripple
It will start off painfully and tragically slow
And what you have will corrode, little by little

So now you know of the invisible veil
Do you dare to set sail?
Do you dare to take the risk?
And meet them behind the veil?
