"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to accept what is true."

Darkness faded a little bit. Behind it is light.

Suddenly, it was too bright to see.

The darkness was back again in its pure, raw form.

"Can you hear me?" A distant voice echoed.

The battle between light and darkness kept going. Then, darkness was only in the corners and a blur figure said something.

The focus improved and it was Levi.

"Hey? You okay?"

Alyssa turned her head sideways and breathed in deep as she shifted slightly.

"What's going on?" She asked.

"You.. fell down."

"Fell down?"

"You were talking about your head feeling heavy, I went away for a few minutes and when I came back you were inert."

She tried to sit up and he helped her.

"Well.. I feel better now." She said with confused, narrowed eyes.

"I know, you were pale when you fell unconscious. But then, you were back."

"How long was I out?"

"5-6 minutes."

"Minutes?" She raised her eyebrows.

He nodded. "But the coldness was gone in a few seconds so I knew it wasn't anything serious."

"But what was that?"

"I don't-"

She suddenly closed her eyes and gasped.

"The end is here." A female voice said.

The sound of glass shattering and screams of someone filled the air.

"Same as him, same as him!" The voice said and laughed.

"You don't what?" Levi asked.

Alyssa opened her eyes and looked at him, breathing deeply. Her eyes were wide and lips apart.

"Why.. are you looking at me like that?"

She recalled the flashes she had but couldn't recognize the voice.
She teared her gaze away from him and slightly shook her head.

"Did something happen?" Levi stared carefully at her to study her reactions.

"No." She denied.

"Well, something did. You were out, spirits don't do that."

"It's nothing, maybe my physical body is weak, I.. I hadn't eaten the whole day so maybe.." She lied.

"A-Are you.. sure?" He asked with concern as she stood up and huffed.

"Positive." She said with a smile. "So what about the oil?"

Levi eyed her for a moment before stepping away and pointing to the bottle on the table.

"Awh." She sighed and picked up the transparent liquid bottle. "I'm never letting you out of sight."

Levi went back to the computer he had set up and typed in a few commands.

"So, uh, remember how I said yesterday that the crazies might be teaming up?" He asked.

"Yeah?"
