That's the first thing I'd say. This book exists for you and because of you. I'm forever grateful.

Just like in my other book, Blessed, I'm gonna give you guys some alternate versions of this book. While this story was still under construction, and even while final editings, this is how it looked..

Enjoy :)

1. In the very early stages, there was gonna be an institution which taught Walkers a better control over their abilities (I eradicated it because it reminded me too much of Hogwarts and it lacked originality). There were gonna be 5 examinations, to send students in spell made world which resembles the spiritual realm and complete 5 tasks. The first to complete wins. Levi and Alyssa would've been enemies since the start (not friends) and their competition would've taken new heights in their final exam. Due to some mistakes, they would've been stuck in the spell world and there they would've realised how they actually felt. (As I said, Goblet Of Fire vibes)

2. Rachel was gonna be a one time character. Other times, only her name was gonna be mentioned.

3. Crystal was gonna take the Angels' side and not help the Walkers as she did.

4. Ian was gonna be killed, making Robb the leader which he was gonna refuse because now he hates all the "Travelling and Walkers" business more; plus, there are no more tribes technically.

5. There were gonna be 24 memories Levi and Alyssa would've lived again. I changed it to 24 days later. There's a legit timeline you can follow and see that they spent 24 days in that world, even though it had just been 12ish hours on Earth.

6. After the abolishment of American tribes, John decides to talk to his sister. He and Victoria have an emotional talk after years but something had changed. They were both not the same siblings anymore. This is why they decide to let what is be and focus on the riots. So they go back to the old way of not interacting and causing more anger in people. At least we tried and talked, Victoria tells herself. This scene was too long and hence was edited out.

7. Hearing this, Robb also thinks of Levi and Alyssa. This time a call goes from England to Chicago. They talk a little and thank each other. Alyssa and Levi were thrilled to talk to Crystal and learn that she is making progress at how to be a human. Everyone apologises to each other for any harm done and they hang up on good terms, but also say that these are their final words to each other. Alyssa calls Robb her brother as well.

8. Things I left for open interpretation :

A) The First Separation (which is what I call the separation between the Lauder siblings in 1977) and the Second Separation (the American Division of John Lauder and Richard Cahill in 1994).
  The events were just briefly brushed through or talked about in the story and not explained in detail like it would've had it been a separate book.

B) Likewise with Victoria and Steven's love story. It's never mentioned how they met in the first place as they were enemies and how they fell in love. (Alyssa and Levi's story is kinda like history repeating. Alyssa fell in love with her rival, just like her Aunt.)

C) The origin of the war between Lauders and Lassiters. Again, never mentioned. Started in 14th Century. May have been a woman, or a man, a land dispute.. open for interpretation.

Like in the chapter The Last Archives, the records contain information about the end of Walkers titled as The Extinction. There are other chapters in the records for The Lauder-Lassiter war, The First Separation, The Second Separation, and all other major events ever happened in Walker history.

There could be many. All the discoveries there ancestors made, times where they made mistakes or saved mistakes from happening. [ Just like how we study notable people in history, there are notable people in Walker history. What they've done is another story. Little did they know they'll be extinct one day, thanks to these young people (: ]

D) Past John and Victoria handling their tribe. How their day to day life was like, their problems, their story before she fell for Steven. When they were growing up, being told about Lassiters and Walking. Their relationship development. It also shows how they had no idea that their children will be a part of an historical event and their own actions contribute to it.

E) Renee's story is cool too. You can imagine a teen story of falling in love with a boy and figuring yourself out but with the twist that your adoptive family is Lassiters and your best friend is an ex Angel. The craziness increases. Walkers would just be a background as her life is around high school and other humans, but this background isn't that quiet.

F) Another thing left for interpretation is the love triangle between Crystal, Robb and Ian. We've all read enough books to imagine an exciting story of two brothers in a love triangle with a girl :p
The twist here is that we know their deep/dark background story. One's an ex Angel, one's an ex leader of the most powerful tribe and tortured till almost death, and another had a adventure of his life with his cousin sister and another leader in foreign lands and eventually lost the girl he loves.

So Ian likes Crystal, she likes Robb but he's sad about Rachel so she doesn't say anything (she doesn't even know how to, she's still new.)

There was scene in my head. Crystal doesn't feel like she fits in in her dance class and she runs out from there to find Ian waiting for her outside. She hugs him and cries about her insecurities and he realises he's in love with her.

(I've also been the one who felt like running away because I didn't fit in, wasn't popular or too different, too quiet, so this scene was kinda easy to write, lol. But I edited it out.)
