"The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it... I can resist everything but temptation."

"So let me ask the question once you asked me. How are you and Robb working together?" Alyssa asked amusingly.
"Same motives." He shrugged.
"Which are? Getting out alright? Saving me? None of the above?"
Levi briskly walked. "You ask a lot of questions."
"Mm.. here's another one. What exactly do you think will happen by all this? Why have you captured me?" She asked in a rough voice.
"To stop your reckless killings, for starters. And so you don't find a way to go back to Earth."
"Ah, home." She sighed. "How I miss that place. Feels like forever ago I was there."
"It's just been two weeks." Levi said plainly.
"It's day 17, to be exact." Alyssa said smugly.
Levi simply rolled his eyes at her cocky persona.
"So my dear brother is out and about looking for the next ingredient. Why are you here? I'm all tied up, you can go and check he doesn't betray you again. He's got a habit of doing that."
"Must be in the family."
Alyssa scoffed. "C'mon, Levi. What are we doing here?"
"Talking." He shrugged.
"Let me go."
"So that you kill everyone?"
"I've already killed enough." She smirked.
Levi stared at her in disbelief. "What could have she possibly done to you to make you like this? What happened to you?" His voice cracked a little.
"Aw, don't be sad, Levi. This is the best version of me. Cold, insensitive, blah blah. Whatever you wanna call it. But it's true, I'm best when I'm served in this version. Though I am really sorry for upsetting you.." She said with a fake sympathy.
"You're just making it bad for yourself. Look what you did, Alyssa. What you did to Elijah, to Crystal! She was always good to you!"
"Oh please. You confuse me for someone with remorse." She huffed. "And she's alive, isn't she? Thanks to your interruption."
"You burned her wings."
"And I'd do a lot more. Much worse." She emphasised.
Levi looked hatefully at her. "You're a killer, Alyssa Lauder."
"You should be scared of me. What doesn't kill me better run." She said in a threatening tone.
"You're right. I'm not killing you. But I'm not running either."
"Levi.." She sang. "Uncle Richard would be so happy if you did kill me."
"Uncle." He scoffed and nodded.
"Well then what? You're not going, not killing me. Are we waiting out for something?"
Levi didn't reply. Just kept his gaze on her.
"Wait a second." She said as she realised. "You're kidding, right?" She laughed.
"You mean to save me!?" She shouted in mockery. "That is just so.. oh! sweet of you."
"Shut up, Alyssa."
"You really think there's hope, Levi?" She narrowed her golden eyes and shook her head. "Listen to me carefully, there is no reason for hope. None."
