49) The Dream Date

Levi leaned back in his chair. "Seems legit."

Alyssa turned a page of the book she was reading on the bed. "There's nothing in the documents that we have."

"Possible, we're not exactly carrying the best books around with us."

"Yeah."

"So what's today's plan?" Levi stretched out on the chair.

"We make yourselves a container and crispy fry ourselves a spirit."

"Four down." Levi nodded.

Alyssa started packing her stuff. "Let's get to work then. It's 9 already."

When they were both ready to leave, someone knocked on the door.

"Must be the manager asking us to check out." Levi said as he went to open the door.

"Good morning, Sir-" the bald man on the door started but frowned when he saw Levi. "Um, there was this gentleman here last night who checked in-"

"Yeah, yeah.. he's, uh. He had to go.." Levi tried to make something up.

"It's okay, mister. We're checking out on his behalf." Alyssa said as she came to the door with her bag.

The man looked back and forth between them. "B-By any chance, are you Alyssa and Levi?"

"No." Levi immediately responded.

"Why do you ask?" Alyssa asked with a smile but internally she was going hysterical.

"Two women stopped by a few hours ago, asking about a couple, Alyssa and Levi. I said no couple rented here."

"Um.. the women who asked.. did they seem weird? Like, aggressive or their eyes seemed too shiny?" Levi questioned.

"They were wearing sunglasses so I didn't get a look. And since you asked that, you are Levi, aren't you?"

"No, Levi is a friend of mine." Levi said.

"Well, what has he done that those intimidating girls are looking for him?"

"That's a million dollar question, sir." Alyssa chuckled. "Now if you'll excuse us.."

The car doors slammed shut. Alyssa in the passenger seat and Levi driving.

"Okay, the soldiers are on us again." Alyssa commented.

"Yeah, we better-"

"Move." Crystal's voice made them jump.

"Crystal! You scared us." Alyssa huffed.

The Angel smiled apologetically from the backseat.

"What happened?" Levi asked.

"The soldiers are near. I have to send you to your memory so they don't find you." She informed.

Levi's face drained. "We're not going down that road again. It's just round and round we go!"

Alyssa looked back and forth between them.

"I understand your troubles, Levi. But this memory won't be unpleasant. This isn't an original spell work, we've tampered it down."

"What is it?" Alyssa asked.

"Knowing you two, I personally think it's not that pleasant but others thought it is, so.."

"If it's not," Levi raised his finger, "I won't go. I'd rather fight here than run like a scared little girl and so would she. Back me up!" He nudged Alyssa.
