"Every man has two men in him. A King and a fool. How do you know when you've found a Queen? When she speaks to the King in you."

Everyone had shown up the next night. All the members of both the Councils.

Levi's Council had flown in from Chicago and this meeting was being conducted in a seminar hall.

Alyssa and Ruby were talking, minutes before Alyssa walks up on the stage.

"..stick to your beliefs, be harsh if you have to, look every person dead in the eye and let them know you-"

"I get it, Ruby. Breathe."

She paused. "I've never seen you take on this heiress role." She said slowly.

Alyssa half smiled. "Because I've never taken it this way."

Her phone began vibrating and he looked at Justin's name on the screen.

Ruby asked, "what's he calling for?"

"I've been missing classes since two days and not replying him so he's just being.. extra, I guess." Alyssa sighed in annoyance and looked up.

Her gaze immediately fell on Levi, who was talking to a brunette and she was noting down everything he was saying as they made their way over to them.

"Will that be all?" The woman asked as he stopped in front of Alyssa.

"Yes, Martha. Thank you."

"Gotcha." The lady nodded at Alyssa and Ruby as well before walking away.

"Again," Levi spoke to Alyssa, "I could come up with you, two councils won't-"

"Again," she cut him off, "I'll be fine."

"Alyssa." Bella called her. "You're up."

Alyssa took a deep breath and took the microphone Levi offered him.

"Kill it up there." He said.

"I will."

With that, she went.

In the deadly silence, the sound was her walking up to the stage in heels was loud.

She stood in the center and saw the almost a hundred people before her, but the big lights shining on her face made it impossible to see till the end.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen." She said calmly. "Tonight is an extraordinary affair... Not only have the Western Council been co-operative enough to reach here on such a short notice and hence marking this the first time in 10 years the whole American Council is united under one roof but tonight, we'll erase our history.. and as a result, we'll be writing a new one."

Whispers started erupting amongst the crowd.

"In the previous independent meets," Alyssa spoke again and gained back the attention, "we've all covered what happened with me, Levi and Robb Lassiter. We were successful in bringing peace back but I wouldn't call it a win. No Walker would.. because we've, as a matter of fact, lost... we lost our abilities, our legacy, our nature."

She walked briskly on the stage and with hand movements, effectively tied everyone's attention to herself.

"And I understand over ninety percent of you blame us. I'm not denying that, I'm accepting it. We are to be blamed because of course, we went there and we did what we had to in order to survive, so we could bring the natural order of human spirits entering the realm in knowledge and peace. But I'm aware we've already tried to justify ourselves and you've heard all our explanations."
