Chapter 11

I woke up with a headache and my stomach hurts. I groaned as I turned off my alarm that was beeping. Any day now It would be likely broken. I hate that alarm! I rushed to the bathroom and brushed my teeth as I did what I had to do. I put on my red skinny jeans with my short sleeve shirt that says " Geek Girl" in pink. I put on my jean vest and my toms. I brushed my hair into a high ponytail and put on my pink "YOLO" earrings. I grabbed my skateboard as Cody followed like he did everyday. I quickly put new food and water in his bowl as he ate it. It was pretty wired since the fight. Everyday we would eat in silence. Everyday I hoped to leave quick so I wouldn't hear crickets at breakfast time. As I stabbed my eggs with my fork I put it in my mouth chewing it. Mother took the napkin and cleaned around her lips.
"After school can we talk?" She asked looking at me for the first time.
"Fine. Why?"
"It's something important. I just don't have the heart to tell you-" she cut herself before saying anything else.
"You know just come see me ok." She quickly said as she put her dish In the sink.
I sighed as I finished my last pieces and put it in the sink.
"Have a good day kiddo." I said to my little sister and patted her head.
She smiled up at me as she walked away with mom her pigtails bouncing up and down. I bent down on my knees as I played with Cody kissing him everywhere and 'cooing' him.
"Be a good boy Cody. Don't attack the mail man again." I said in a serious voice as he frowned.
I laughed. He always liked to do that sometimes. Scratch that, it was a lot.
I grabbed my board as I placed it down in the hard floor and kicked my foot as the board started to move. I was going down the sidewalk as I listened to The Intro. It calmed me. I passed down the pizza shop as the food passed my noes and I sniffed it. After this I need to get a job. I wanted to help momma. She needed more money for rent. I didn't even know I was even at the school until I saw the schools name as people's voices boomed. I walked as I opened the doors to see people walking around everywhere. I went to my locker and got my stuff out for my next class. I sighed as I slammed my locker and put my back against it. Where is Kayla and Layla? In the corner of my eye I saw Josh running up to me. I looked at him confused as he ran up to me , almost tripping while he was at it.
"Helena- there is- someone on the- phone for you." He said in between breaths.
My eyes raised in confusion as I picked up the phone.
"Hello?" I heard a cough at the end of the phone.
"Helena it's me."
My eyes widened as I laughed.
"Cousin Jenny?"
"Yep." She said popping the 'p.'
"Why are you calling?" I asked.
"Well let's just say that I'm coming over in a few days."
"What!" I screamed as some people looked at me but kept walking. That's right...
Jenny was the best cousin I could get. Yea she was older but she was funny and the best.
"Ok don't sound happy."
"No I am but why? Is there something wrong?" I asked as my voice raised.
There was silence in the phone.
"Your mom didn't tell you yet?"
She asked.
"No. Were not on the best terms. What didn't she tell me?"
"Your mom should tell you when you come home today."
I nodded my head but forgot she couldn't see me.
"Yea." I said.
"Look Jenny I got to go to school, see you later."
"Ok little girl."
"I am not a-" I was cut off by phone ringing. She knows I don't like getting called little girl. I laughed and rolled my eyes as I hung up. I forgot Josh was standing there trying to catch his breath.
"Let's go we have a class to get to."
I said as I ruffled his hair.
As we began walking we talked about things.
"No Katniss is more hotter." He said.
"No way! She is but Jennifer Lawrence is funny and a nice girl." I said as I bumped my shoulder into somebody else's.
"Yea but who wouldn't like a bad ass girl like Katniss?"
I nodded my head to the side as I thought.
"Yea I guess who wouldn't."
"Plus she got a bow and arrow! What does Jennifer Lawrence have? Fifteen thousand golden awards." He said as I laughed.
"Slow down there she dosn't have that many. Get your facts straight."
He gave me a 'are you crazy' before waving his hands around.
"Do you have to always correct me?" He asked.
"Yes." I said walking ahead of him.
I turned my head as my smile turned into a frown. Her...
She was standing there fixing her outfit. Allie kissed Tyler yesterday at the party. I remembered. Why should I care? Do I have a crush forming? It dosn't matter. I thought as Josh looked at me then her.
"Your jealous? Aren't you?" He asked as he smirked.
My lips turned into a straight line.
"Actually I don't really know."
I said before walking until Brittney pulled me aside as Allie and the crew were aside of her as well.
"How was the party? " she asked as she smiled.
I smiled.
"It was good. What a blast!" I said as she laughed.
"I know but you defiantly got some moves." Allie said out of nowhere and winked before smiling.
Wtf?
"Uh yea. This isn't my first."
She nodded.
"Oh I know Green."
"What?" I asked confused.
"Me and my friends are going to shop so I invited you. So you up?" Brittney asked interrupting our strange conversation.
I looked at Allie who I thinked faked smile at me as I faked one back.
Bitch...
I had nothing wrong with Brittney actually but maybe Allie and some of the girls who acted like sluts.
"Sure why not?"
She cheered.
"I'll call you."
She walked away with the little crew and Allie. I had to admit when I heard about her I called her Bitchney until I got to know her more. She was smart but acted dumb. She was cool and a normal teenager but she acted popular. Me and her have private talks. It's funny how you have the most popular girl in school talk to you about her problems. Allie...
She was a nerd and I helped her and everything now she pays me by being popular and switching to that group.
Brittney can do more better. The others were so fake. She was like Lydia from Teen Wolf but with a fake group who she can find some better friends.
Josh looked at me in shock.
"You and Brittney?" He asked as his mouth dropped.
"It's complicated." I said as he nodded not saying anything else.
We finally got to class as the students talked until the teacher came in .
"Good morning class everyone take a seat." Mr. Zeeman said.
"Today we will look over the lesson we started yesterday." He exclaimed as he rubbed his hands together.
Dam! That lesson is hard. I'm good at everything except for math. Too much shit to write and learn.
Mostly durning the class I was drawing in my notebook and pretended to pay attention. Who pays attention to math?! Thank god that period was over.

"Where's the two girls?" I asked Josh.
He have me a wired look.
"What two girls?"
"Kayla and Layla!"
"Oh! Layla ditched school with Brad and Kayla got sick so she stayed home."
"Oh ok." I said.
I knew Josh saw that something was wrong. Why didn't they call me?!
I'm there best friends. Well I'm sure they have a good reason.

Finally school ended! It was boring today I had to say but after school I got to work with my project with Tyler.
I wore the same thing to school . Who cares what I wear? It's not like I'm going to prom. Tyler is coming over here instead of his house. I sat on my bed and opened my laptop scrolling through Facebook and Twitter. There was a knock on my door .
"Come in!" I shouted.
There stood Tyler. The first thing he did was smile at me then looked at my room. No, the wall wasn't pink. It had a white wall but with these blue designs.
Yea I had now two teddy bears.
Hey! It's a childhood memory!
"Your room is nice." He said as I raised an eyebrow.
"Are you trying to be nice?"
He laughed.
"Shut up!" I said as I threw a pillow at him and it hit him in the side.
I started laughing my ass off. That was funny. He glared at me. I put my hands up defending myself.
"Come on we have a project to do."
I said.
Cody came in a growled at Tyler.
"Cody no boy he's good." I said as he bend down next to me.
He sniffed Tyler as he stood still.
I laughed.
Then Cody started to lick Tyler as they played with eachother.
"This is one awesome dog."
"Well you saved us remember."
He nodded at me and we both smiled at eachother.

After a while we got started on the pieces and puzzles. We were doing a good job actually.
"That's it . We will continue tomorrow."
He said.
We almost finished it but it was the afternoon.
"I'm not going to be available tomorrow so can we do it the next day?" I said.
"Yea it's fine." He said and smiled.
I played with my hands as pieces of hair fell over my face. I felt my hair get pulled back as I looked up. Tyler pushed it out of the way. We just stared at eachother. I never really seen his eyes this up close. There were beautiful. Wait- No no no! Helena you can not be falling for this boy!
Then a knock was heard on the door.
Life savor!
Tyler looked at the door then me.
"Bye Helena." He waved at me as he got his backpack.
He opened the door as my mother looked at Tyler.
"Oh I'm sorry! Am I bothering?"
"No it's ok Ms. Green. We were just working on a project." He said and they shook hands.
"Oh ok well you are welcome here anytime if you need anything."
She smiled at him.
"Bye Helena and Ms. Green."
He waved again as he left.
I looked at my phone which had my contacts which Tyler is in.
I looked up to see my mom didn't leave the room left. She came and sat by me.
"Helena I need to tell you something."
She said as she looked at me with tears glistening in her eyes.
"Mom? What's wrong?" I placed my hands in her shoulder as she pulled me into a hug.
"I know that we have been not the best terms but I love you Helena. Even though I might not show it, it's just I'm having trouble and I'm struggling."
She started crying.
I gave her a sad smile.
"I love you too mom."
She smiled at me but the tears wouldn't stop.
"Helena-"
She chocked on her tears.
"Helena I'm sick."
I looked at her.
"Flu? Kayla is sick too."
She nodded her head as she let out a bitter laugh.
"No, no."
The words that came out of her mouth stopped my heart beat.
"Helena I have cancer."

Oh no! Helena's mom has cancer!
Sorry for stopping it right there but I had to. Any way this was a long chapter since I haven uploaded in a while. Plus I don't want people thinking Brittney is the bad girl here. You will know her more better in the next chapter though so hang in there. Helena is falling for Tyler!
