Chapter 24

After that horrible fight , I went home walking not bothering to skate. I was just too much into deep thoughts. I would of have fallen off my board anyway so..

I checked my pockets as I finally found my keys and put them in the key hole as I turned it and heard the click. I turned the door open as the smell of home sweet home filled my nose.

"Helena! Your home!" Small hands and arms wrapped around my waist and I hugged back.

I looked down at the little girl wearing her school skirt with her stocking with her shiny black flats and simple white shirt wearing pigtails that bounced every time she would walked.

I smiled.

"Hey where's Jen?" I looked at the dog beside her as I bend down to him.

He looked at me with a smile.

I kissed his head as Carly was standing there thinking.

"She's upstairs-" she stopped as she thought again.

"I don't know Helena."

My head turned to the side a little.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

Her palm itched her nose as she finally looked me in the eyes.

"Jen said that she had something to tell you and she had been up there since we came back. I'm scared."

I sighed knowing that the important info she had to tell me was hard for her. The only time she ever locked herself in a room was when was her mother left home and she was with her father now.

"I hope she's okay." I muttered into her hair.

She nodded as she kissed my cheek and ran off.

Cody did a nod and left , following Carly.

I jogged up the stairs as I threw my bag on my bed and went into the hallway.

I stopped at my mothers room as I heard nothing but silence. My eyebrow scrunched together as I put my ear to the door.

I heard some shuffling then whispering.

"I don't know if I'm able to tell her-"

Silence.

"Yes- yes okay I know but-"

She sighed as I heard feet moving.

She was on the phone.

"Please make this easy for me too! This is your daughter and I don't appreciate you yelling at me like that!"

Was it mom she was talking too?

I pushed my ear more to the door.

"Fine. But how am I suppose to tell Helena that her f-"

My head slightly banged against the door interrupting the conversation.

I held my ear as I felt some pain.

"Um I'm gonna have to call you back right now."

I heard feet movement coming towards the door as I gasped and quickly went into my room.

I landed on my bed as I grabbed a magazine from my dresser and began to 'read it.'

A few seconds later aunt Jen came in and looked at the room then me.

"Hey. You alright?" She asked.

She looked into the hallway then at me.

Her bright eyes staring deep into my soul.
