*Natsu's POV*
I carried Lucy to our house, she was sound asleep on my shoulder.
"Happy, can you get the door for me?" I fumbled my keys out of my pocket and passed them to him.
"I don't know why you do so much for her, it's not like she does a ton in return," he groaned, unlocking and pushing the door open. We walked in and I kicked the door shut, trailing behind Happy up the stairs.
"What do you mean she doesn't do stuff in return? You must be blind if you haven't seen all the things she does for me daily."
He mumbled something under his breath but didn't push the topic further. As we entered the apartment room, I carried Lucy into her bedroom and laid her down, tucking her in. I planted a kiss on her forehead, and quietly backed out.
Happy was already rummaging through the kitchen when I flopped down onto the couch. I ran my fingers through my hair, thinking about the secret Santa drawing.
How did I choose Gray of all people? And what am I supposed to get him? Maybe find something that will make him keep his clothes on? Hmm I wonder if there is a potion for that..
"Oh! You got Lucy down. Since she's out, why don't we go fishing! She doesn't have any fish in her fridge, and I ate the last one I packed earlier," Happy padded into the room.
"Sorry, buddy. I think I'm going to hang out here with Lucy until she wakes up. I don't want her to freak out when she finds out she's alone and doesn't know where we are." He frowned and looked like he was about to explode. His mouth opened but stopped short when the floor creaked.
"Go ahead, Natsu. He obviously really wants to be with you, so be with him. I'll be fine," Lucy's voice was soft and motherly like. I hopped up and stood in front of her, grabbing her hips.
"Are you sure you'll be ok?"
"Yes, now go," she laughed, turning me around and pushing me towards the door. "Happy, you better not steal my man now."
"Aye," he saluted with a grin. He opened the front door for her as she gave one last struggling shove.
"Get enough fish for dinner and I'll make you both something," she beamed, now in a good mood again.
"Alright, we will be back," I kissed her forehead and waved as she closed the door. "See? Lucy is amazing."
"She has her moments," Happy agreed.
We strolled out into the golden light, afternoon slowly changing to evening. Happy flew us back to the forest, our forest. This is where we lived, in a little house not to far from our fishing lake.
"It's been forever since we've been back here," I took in all the old memories we flew over.
"Well, no duh. Once Lucy was in the picture, everything changed."
"Lucy has always been in the picture, things are just different now."
"That's my point. It's, whatever. Here we are."
He landed us by the lake, skipping off to get our polls that we always left by a specific tree. I leaned over the lake and eyed my reflection.
End.
