"I feel too powerful. I miss my spirits," I sighed, resting my chin in my palms.
"Get over it, I didn't want to be in prison," Zancrow used his fork to push the mush around his plate.
"Will both of you shut it? This isn't the time for nonsense. How much longer are we going to be here anyway?" Macbeth slammed his fork on the table. My team sat together at one of the tables during the prisoners lunch hour.
"I don't know, I'm taking the next few days off. It shouldn't be much longer after that."
"Why are you taking the days off? Won't it be suspicious that you've been requesting all these breaks?" Azuma quietly chewed on his food.
"The princess is actually really happy that I've been 'reconnecting' with my old friends. Jellal and I are taking all the dragon slayers with us to the place we could find demons. He said there is this hot spot where a lot of them meet this time of year."
"Laxus is going with you, too?"
"Mhmm, Jellal says it wouldn't hurt or be as noticeable if we took all the slayers, and not just the ones we need."
"Makes sense. Now, no one ever explained why Cobra and I are needed."
"You are powerful and work well surrounded by trees. Cobra is a dragon slayer if anything were to happen, and he's also really powerful too. We pretty much make up the team of misfits," Macbeth said.
"I don't know about you, but I am not a misfit."
"You attempted to kill one of your old guild mates, who would do that?" Everyone went silent because we all know we have, if not thought about it, in someway put our team mates in danger.
"Well, whatever. I must say we are the most powerful team in all of Fiore," I broke the silence.
"You can say that again," Zancrow agreed, and even though we didn't particularly like each other, we high fived.
"Chill, others are starting to stare, let's get out of here," Erik stood up, taking his plate to one of the wash bins and dropping it there. I brought them back to their cells before taking off.
I dashed out of the prison and broke out my magic. Have I said how much I love Racer's magic? It makes travel so much easier.
I went to Sabertooth first, since there's only two of the six I'm picking up there. Their doors were open so I just walked in.
"Hey, Rufus. Thank you again for teaching me maker magic. It's nice having something for back up," I spotted him first.
"No problem, it was nice working with you for the first time."
"Rouge or Sting around?" I asked.
"In the pool like they always are."
"Thanks." Sting was floating on his back with Lector laying on his stomach. Rouge and Frosch were splashing around together. I quietly requiped into a bathing suit and dove in, startling the four. I popped to the surface and rubbed the water out of my eyes.
"Lucy?!" Three of them gasped. Frosch just giggled happily.
"Hello," I acted like this wasn't weird.
"Uhh, why are you here. Did you just come to use our pool?" Sting swam over.
"No, I wanted you guys to go on a trip with me. There will be a few more people, but you should come."
"Like, right now?" Rouge lifted Frosch out of the water.
"Mhmm. You guys in?"
"Uh, sure I guess."
"Awesome! Ok, you guys go dry off and throw on some clothes. I'll meet you outside." I pulled myself out of the water and requiped back into my outfit.
"Did you just use Erza's magic??"
"Hurry up, I'll explain when we are on the move." I quickly went outside and waited. I was excited to use my transform magic, especially because I wanted to see Frosch's and Lector's reaction. "You guys take too long," I said once they joined me.
"Not all of us can requip, which I still want to know how you can use it," Sting put a hand on his hip.
"I use it the same way I can use transformation magic. Watch this," I stood perfectly still and the smoke puffed around me. I came out as my own exceed.
"Whoa, you're an exceed?" Lector and Frosch went wild.
"Yep," I flipped my wings out. "I haven't tried out flying yet, so let's go." I jumped up and they each grabbed a hold of their dragon slayer, meeting me in the sky.
The feeling of flying is incredible, it's so much fun. The only part is I don't know how to stop myself once I get going. I hit the fairy tail guilds front door, with my face. The ground is hard and cold, like usual.
"What was that?" Sting dropped down from Lector and ran to my side, scooping me up.
"Crash test?" My cat face felt like it was on fire, and I knew it was bruising, I'm surprised I didn't break anything.
"Hello?" Macao answered the door. "Why are you guys here? And who's the cat?"
"It's me, Lucy," I transformed out of exceed form and ended up with Sting holding me bridal style.
"Your face is all purple, were you the loud bang on the door?"
"Maybe?" I caught my breath, hopping to push aside an oncoming headache, and had Sting put me down.
"Come in." We went in and I instantly scanned the crowed. Bingo. They were all at one table, conveniently.
"Hey, Natsu, Laxus, Wendy, and Gajeel, you want to join us on our mission?" I bolted over to them.
"Why so suddenly?" Laxus looked at me.
"Because why not. So..?"
"What is the mission?" Gajeel asked.
"Man, she hasn't even told us yet, just come on," Rouge answered for me.
"Sure, I like mysteries," Wendy giggled, getting up with Carla. The other three shot each other a glance, but shrugged and left with us.
