"You guys are idiots," I shook my head as I scrubbed the bar. Sting and Rogue sat on worn stools across from me, mouths a gape.
"I am not the idiot, blame Rogue!" Sting protested, pointing his finger at the introvert beside him. Well, he only kept to himself when meeting new people.
"What? You were the one who took it over the top, there was no need for you to use your magic on the town!" Rogue scoffed back, blowing his black hair out of his eyes.
Sting pouted, taking a drink of the beer sat in front of him. He had downed two glasses already, making his way through his third. You could tell he was drunk off his ass, but if you asked, he would never admit it.
Rogue, though, was still on his first. He wasn't a big drinker, and had a high tolerance to alcohol. It's understandable, he's so calm and collected, I would never image him getting so drunk.
The two are polar opposites, Sting was the out going type, bright blonde hair, light eyes, he radiated joy. Rogue kept to himself, dark raven hair, menacing eyes, he was the spitting image of an emo kid. But when you put the two together, they just fit so well.
"Earth to Levy?" Sting waved a hand in my face, the strong beer smell on his breath hitting me like a truck.
"Sorry, I was in my own little world," I got to work on washing their used glasses.
"You know you don't have to constantly work, you can take a break," Rogue tapped the spotless, wooden bar countertop.
"Yeah, celebrate our victory with us, get yourself a drink," Sting slurred.
"I wouldn't call it a victory, you destroyed an entire town," I placed the clean glasses under the counter.
"But we chased away those crooks," his lips jutted back out into his pout, one that I have gotten to know so well.
"I think you've had too much to drink, your cheeks are flushed."
"You're no fun."
"Yeah, I know," my eyes gazed down, wringing my hands. I always seemed to make things awkward, I turn serious to easily, which of course, is no fun. Especially to an enthusiastic guy like the one before me, so it makes sense that I bore him.
I placed my hands on the counter to stop the constant rubbing. Two years ago, I was always looking for excitement. It wasn't hard to find, the Fairy Tail guild hall never had a dull moment. Nothing ever seemed serious, well, serious enough that things spiraled out of control. Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Mira, everyone was so energetic, it was amazing. And Gajeel, well Gajeel..
A comforting warmth met my skin. I looked for the source, seeing Rogue's hand squeezing mine, a look of sympathy on his face.
"Why don't we close up early, Sting and I will help clean up," he said, patting the back of my hand. Before I could respond, he had pulled Sting to the dinning area to put the chairs up on top of the tables. I sighed, shaking my head again at the two.
I dumped out the inch on beer remaining in Sting's glass, washed it until it was to my liking, and placed it carefully with the rest. Meeting the two dragon slayers at the hall doors, I waved them off, since we lived in opposite directions.
All the Sabertooth guild members lived in the apartment complex provided by the town, just a little bit up the road from the hall. The rent was too pricey for me, and it wasn't always the most appealing idea to live under the same roof of a guild where a majority of the members were of the male gender. I lived on the farther side of town, in a little town house that was basically falling apart. When I first bought it, it wasn't the prettiest thing I've ever seen, but with the money I have been saving up from this job and a few other small ones I've taken up on the side, I've been restoring the building.
"I'm home," I called into the dark house. A continuous click on the hardwood floor followed almost instantly as my little puppy scampered to me. He jumped up, scratching at my knees and barked. "Down, Muffin."
I locked the door, set my belongings on the kitchen counter, and headed for the bathroom. Muffin followed, trotting to his little bed in the bedroom. Stepping into the shower, I let the blistering water rain over me.
I need a change in my life. These last two years are eating away at me, with the Fairy Tail guild being disbanded. Everything has taken a toll, I lost my team, Jet and Droy, my best friend, Lucy, and Gajeel.. I didn't need him, he abandoned me that day. It's a waste of time to think about him.
I need to spice up my life a little bit.
Hope you enjoyed !!
