If I tell you I need you, do not take it lightly. I do everything I can to never have to depend on anyone, to never show weakness, and if I say that I need you, it means I am trusting you to catch me when I fall.
"Summer camp?" I groaned, dropping my book in my lap.
"Yes, Levy. You have spent the last three summers sitting around, wasting your life away. Your father and I think it's a good idea," my mom scrubbed dishes vigorously. She didn't trust dishwashers, they never got the job done to her standards.
"I'm not an out-doorsy person. I rather stay inside and read," I motioned toward my book.
"You know, I went to summer camp at your age. Had the time of my life out there, building relationships with people, checking out the female cabin.." my dad started but stopped when mom glared. "Anyway, it will be good for you."
"What did I do to deserve this.." I mumbled under my breath. My eyes closed and I rubbed my temples.
"Oh, shush, Levy. We are leaving in the morning, so go ahead and pack."
"Tomorrow? It will literally be the first day of break, how long is this going to last?"
"One month-"
"Oh my god," I stood up. "That's over doing it, is it not? One month?"
"It has already been decided. Your father will drive you to the store after you've got together what you have. There is a checklist for you on the fridge."
I huffed, shoving the book under my arm, snatching the list off the fridge, and storming to my room. A month in the wilderness? They must be crazy! Why not just disown me and send me out on my own? I mean, that's basically what they are doing anyway.
Out of aggravation, I chucked my book into my room and slammed the closet door open, ripping out a suitcase.
End.
