Dear Laxus,

The boys extended our vacation, saying they needed a longer break from their jobs. I guess seventeen year olds have it rough, but what would a scrawny fourteen year old like me know?

Like what I did there, scrawny fourteen year old? You've called me that ever since you turned fifteen three months ago. Just wait, when I turn fifteen in six weeks, you won't be able to make fun of me then. I'm sorry that I won't be able to make it to the Halloween party tonight, I was looking forward to that, and I bet you were too. I guess we can save the costumes for next year? I should definitely be home in time to celebrate my birthday, though. You better start planning my party, I would love it if Makarov made his homemade marble cupcakes.

God, I miss home, all the home cooked dinners, the soup or sandwich lunches, even the milkless cereal 'low-on-funds' breakfasts. All the boys buy from the grocery store now are bags of chips, quick microwave dinners, or ramen. Most nights they go out to eat and bring me back left overs, which are like a fourth of a small carry out box. I've been going to bed, falling asleep to my stomach aching and rumbling. I keep telling myself, Josh, Miles, and Jeffery are trying as hard as they can to make this vacation feel like a vacation, but they don't have much money for us to live off of, and I'm not contributing any to the group, so I have no right to complain.

In my second letter, I said they went out to buy me a few things as a thanks, and I was so happy that someone actually cared enough to do all of this for me. They came back with two Good Will bags, one containing a scratchy, old blanket, with a brown stain near the top left corner, and the other having jeans tight enough to cut off blood circulation, and a crop top that covered as much as a bra would. Black, five inch, laced heels and hop earrings were wrapped in the blanket. They wanted me to try it on, to see if it suited me. Of course I put it on, but I felt so revealing and uncomfortable. It's now the outfit they want me to wear when we have their guy friends over. Talk about embarrassing.

Crap, my pen is running out of ink. Again, I'm sorry about missing the party, but I'll be home soon!

Sincerely,

Mira
