Date started/stopped: June 5th- July 2016

The halls sparkled as I walked towards my class. New year, new school. Well, for me at least. I'm not your normal teenager, nor is this your normal high school. No, I'm a wizard. And this is-

"Oof," I grunted as I ran into someone, knocking their books out of their hands. "I'm so sorry," I knelt down and quickly grabbed the books. "Here."

"Idiot," the girl finally said when I looked up at her.

I was taken back. "Excuse me?"

"I was supposed gather my books and you would grab the ones that scattered out of my reach. Then when you gave them back, our hands would touch. Have you never read a romance novel?"

"Romance?"

"Tsk, you're new here. I'm Levy, find me when you figure out what I mean." She turned and strode in the opposite direction. What the heck just happened? I stood up, realizing there were eyes on me. Dang it, so much for first impression.

•••••••••••••••••

I sighed as I took a seat in the grass. Day one, eating lunch alone like a loser, but I mean what else is new? I shook my head and pulled off my shirt, laying back with my hands under my head. The sun shone down on everything, it seemed quite peaceful.

"Ew, isn't that the new guy? I can't believe they would let someone like him in the school, what is his power anyway?" A girl gossiped a few feet away. I looked in their direction and was greeted with a scowl.

"Well, hello to you too," I scanned the two.

"A perv on top of that," the first rolled her eyes.

"Ever, give him some slack. Hey, I'm Cana, and this is Evergreen. What's your name?" The second girl extended her hand out to me.

"Gray, nice to meet you," we shook hands.

"Uh, where is your shirt?" Evergreen had taken a step closer.

"Oh, I'm sorry." I sat up and threw it back on. "It's an old habit, my trainer taught me that it's better to embrace the cold so we would train naked in the snow."

"You're an ice wizard?"

"I think so, not really anything else I'm good at."

"Well, it was nice to meet you, Gray. We got to get to class, I hope I see you some time again," Cana smiled.

"Yeah, you too. See ya," I waved as they walked away. Guess I should get to class too, maybe this won't be too bad..

"You still haven't figured out what this morning was about?" The girl from earlier, Levy, walked up. "Saw you talking to those girls."

"Um, and who are you again?"

"I used to know you. I was good friends with your brother, Lyon. He's a jerk by the way."

"You don't seem to really like anyone, do you? And I don't really care what happened this morning, or what your opinions on others are. You haven't said one welcoming thing to me since we met. Now if you'll excuse me-"

"Wait, I know what you are. I'll tell everyone if you don't..." She stopped, her face becoming pale.

"You are delusional, I'm sorry but I got to go. I'll tell Lyon you said hi," I stood up and began in the direction towards the building.

"Idiot!" She huffed away. When am I going to talk to some guys around here? Girls are too complicated.

As I was saying before, this is Fiore Academy, the only campus for wizards. The main building is the dinner hall, sports banquets and such are held there and it's one of the only places to get food around here. From there, it branches off into different buildings for the different classes. Most of the higher ranked classes are in separate buildings with lower, smaller ranked classes filling in the extra space. Each grouping has its own principal I guess you would call them, and then above them, the ones who run the place, is the Council. Dorms surround the court yard. Girls housing on one side and guys on the other.

I am in one of the highest ranked classes, Fairy Tail. And so far, I don't feel like I belong here. Hopefully I will find my place soon.

"Gray Fullbuster," My name was called as I entered the building. An old midget was before me. Oh, it's this guy.

"Hello, Master," I nodded. He's the 'principal' of fairy tail.

"How's your first day going? You liking it here?"

"Uh, yeah. It seems pretty chill, I haven't gotten into any fights like at my old school, but I've also only talked to like three people. So it's going good."

"Well that's great, I hope to see you at the opening ceremony tonight."

"Opening ceremony?"

"Every year we hold a ceremony on the first night of school. It pretty much goes over the rules and what we expect here. You should come."

"I think I'll pass, I need to unpack a little at my dorm..."

"If you say so. Better hurry to class, the bell is about to ring."

"Thank you, sir." I ran off, glad that the conversation was finally over.
