"What are you?" Elena blurted out again.

Glancing back and forth at the both of them, I took a step back I hid the stake behind my back as I gave them some space.

"You know."

"No, I don't."

"Yes, you do, or you wouldn't be here," Stefan whispered.

"It's not possible. It can't be."

Hearing him set down the stake, I leaned my back against the wooden paneling.

"Everything you know...and every belief that you have is about to change. Are you ready for that?"

"What are you?" Elena blurted out again.

"I'm a vampire."

Standing there in silence, I could hear Elena's heart race twice as fast with just those few words.

"I shouldn't have come."

"No, please."

"No."

"Please."

"No!" She yelled.

Running down the driveway, I moved back to the door frame to see Stefan flying across the pavement, stopping Elena from getting into her car.

"How did you do that?"

"Please don't be afraid of me." He gasped.

"Let me go."

"No. Elena, there are things that you have to know and understand."

"Let me go!"

"Stefan!" I yelled as he tried to keep Elena from getting into her car.

"Elena, please."

Watching as she pulls out of the driveway, Stefan slowly starts coming back into the house.

"What now," I asked.

"I don't know..."

"Well, we have bigger problems than Elena finding out we're vampires, Damon," I said.

"I know...I'll go find him, just try to clean-"

"Up your mess? Yeah, that's what I was thinking."

Grabbing my jacket from the coat hanger, I started heading for my car.

"Where are you going?"

"Trying to keep Elena quiet." I blurted out before driving off.

Slowing down as I turned the corner onto her street, I parked my car just a few houses down from Elena's. Staring up at the white paneled house, I searched for her room when I see her shadows pacing back and forth through the window.

"Elena." I sighed after I had jumped up to her room from the window.

Gasping, she throws her jacket on her bed before running over to her door which I quickly held close.

"I'm not gonna hurt you." I blurted out.

"You're cornering me in my own room."

"I would never hurt you, nor Stefan. You're safe with us."

"All those animal attack, those people who died..."

"That was Damon," I whispered as Elena turned around with her back up against the door.

"Damon?"

"Yes. We don't drink human blood. That's not how we choose to survive, but Damon does. Look, Elena. I'll explain everything to you, but I beg you. Do not tell anybody."
