Locking the dishwasher close, James and Elle come down from the second floor with bedsheets and pillow covers over their shoulders.

"Mom making you clean too?" I asked them.

"Don't even start..." Elle hissed as she carried the basket of laundry.

Finishing the kitchen counters, I moved over to the stove and sink when the doorbell sounds off in the foyer.

"I got it!" I yelled, jogging over.

Opening the door wide, Elijah stood in front of me before chuckling at the large wet stain on my stomach.

"Doing a little spring cleaning?" He said.

"It's that time of the year..." I whispered welcoming him inside.

"I don't mean to intrude...but I was hoping you would accompany somewhere?"

Closing the door, I followed Elijah into the living room where the housekeeper was finishing up dusting the bookshelves.

"Do I need a specific attire? Knowing the Mikaelsons, I'm expected to wear a dress." I joked.

"No...you don't need a dress. You look beautiful in anything." Elijah whispered before glancing down at the ground shyly.

"Okay, then...um, let me shower and I'll meet you there-"

"It's quite all right, I'll wait here." He blurted out.

"...I won't take long."

Hurrying up the stairs, I undress and hop into the shower before striding into my closet and grabbing some black jeans with slips on the knees and a gray t-shirt before zipping up some heeled boots. Drying my hair, I grabbed my jacket from the coat rack behind my door before heading down and hearing my father's voice in the living room.

"Well, it's a good she has you watching over her. God knows what those Salvatore boys were up too for all these years..."

"Damon and Stefan...have a good heart. Especially when it comes to their sister, I promise you." Elijah whispered.

Stepping into the living room, the two of them turn to see me.

"Let's go..." I whispered.

Kissing my father goodbye, Elijah and I headed over to my car when he suddenly walks in front of me for the driver's side.

"I'll drive...if you don't mind." Elijah blurted out, holding out his hands for my car keys.

"Are you going to open my door too?" I asked jokingly.

"I can-"

"It's okay, Elijah...Just...you break it, you'll pay." I say, before getting into the passenger's side.

Turning the corner into a long dirt road, Elijah slowly stops the car just in front of a large open space with a chunk of stone sitting in the middle.

Stepping out, I take a deep breath as the cold winds start to blow against my skin.

"I forget how much I missed this land," Elijah said.

"I can't even imagine what it must have been like a thousand years ago," I added.

"The school was built over an Indian village...where I saw my first werewolf."

Walking further into the woods, Elijah kept telling me stories as we passed certain points.

"The town square was where the natives would gather to worship. Matter of fact, near that, was a-, there was a field where wild horses used to graze. You would've loved that." He turned to say to me.
