Moving my hand over the canvass, I picked up the brush and smeared it against the dark colors just above my eyes. My hand moves instinctively to the right spot, building a new picture, one I have never seen before.
Grabbing another brush, I glided the bristles around the painting, smearing and blending the dark colors with the white and beige on the canvas, when James knocks softly on the door frame.
"I figured I'd find you up here."
"Yeah, I couldn't sleep," I whispered, grabbing my brushes and heading for the sink behind me.
"I heard you speaking to someone last night?"
"Oh, that was, um, Katherine. She came by to pay a visit."
"Did she already leave?" He asked.
"Yeah, she doesn't stick around much."
Hearing him chuckling quietly, he pulls out my phone from his pocket to show me.
"A young man by the name Jeremy Gilbert called."
Turning my head, I turned off the water letting my hands rest inside the sink.
"What did he want?" I asked.
"Something about Elena being in the hospital. Said that Alaric was going to come after her."
Grabbing the towel tucked into my back pocket, I dried my hands and grabbed my phone from him.
"You should hurry, the Doctor on the phone sounded worried."
Running downstairs, I grabbed my car keys from the coffee table and headed out to my car when I get another call from Jeremy.
"Jer, I'm on my way right now." I blurted, pressing the gas.
"I'm behind the employee parking lot."
"Okay, got it."
Driving through the back roads of Mystic Falls, I took a sharp turn into the hospital's parking lot. Doctors and patients strolled along the sidewalks, as they dragged along their IV's with them.
Parking the car, I ran over to Jeremy, who peeked his head out of the emergency door that I saw Elena sitting in a wheelchair.
"Is she okay?" I asked.
"Meredith said she just hit her head when she was at Klaus's...we have to hurry, Alaric's here." He whispered.
Turning my head, I watched for anyone around us before the two of us carried Elena into my car and left.
"Why was she at Klaus's house?" I asked Jeremy, exiting the parking lot.
"Klaus took her there. She said that he was going to drain her of all of her blood before he left."
Looking at Elena through the rearview mirror, she was gaining back consciousness.
"Seems like he failed, what happened?"
Turning the corner, I kept driving another mile when I noticed that Jeremy stayed quiet.
"Jer?"
"Tyler freed Elena, but Klaus caught him...that's when Stefan and Damon came in."
"Okay? Then..."
Stopping at a red light, I sat back and looked over.
"They, um...Bonnie said something about a desiccation spell. Her mother used it on Mikael to keep him in the casket for 15 years." He said nervously.
"Jeremy, spit it out already."
"They did the same to Klaus." He blurted out, hesitantly looking at me.
