Getting out of bed, I grabbed one of my sweaters from the drawers, when I heard the doorbell ringing downstairs.
"I suppose I should be grateful, you learned how to use the bell." Damon hissed.
"I'm here on behalf of my mother." I heard Anna say.
Opening my door, I headed downstairs as the two of them were already walking into the kitchen.
"On behalf of or in spite of?"
"I'm sorry about what the other vampires did to Lauren. Abducting her, torturing her. I wasn't supposed to go down like that." She said.
Stepping up to the kitchen, I watched as Damon drank the rest of his drink.
"You were playing house with half of a tomb of really pissed off vampires. What do you think was going to happen?" Damon hissed.
"My mom is devastated. They tried to overthrow her."
"Why isn't she here telling me this?"
"Pearl doesn't do apologies. Trust me, I've seen her talk her way out of some many times." I said as I leaned on the door frame.
"Well, that's a coincidence. 'Cause we don't do forgiveness., so just run along."
"And if you're going to continue playing house with your little vampire pets, you might want to stop robbing the blood bank dry, because they're onto it." Damon hissed.
"What?" I gasped.
"I haven't been to the local blood bank in at least a week."
"Then it's one of your others."
"The other ones are gone, Damon." Anna sighed.
"Well, where'd they go?"
"They weren't cut out for this town, after what happened with Lauren, my mom kicked them out and they took off. It's just us and Harper now." Anna blurted out.
"How is Harper?" I asked her.
"He's doing good. He wanted to come and visit, but..."
Glancing over at Damon and seeing how he clenched his jaw shut, we kept it to ourselves.
"I have to go. I just wanted to say I was sorry, Lauren." Anna said.
"Thank you, Annabelle."
Showing her the door, Damon stood in the middle of the living room staring at the fireplace.
"So, what now?" I asked him.
"You drank the cup last night, but you didn't leave," Damon whispered.
"Okay? And that solves our problem how?"
"When's Stefan getting home?"
"In about an hour. Why?" I asked.
"Just asking."
Casually, I headed over to the liquor counter when I heard my phone ringing from the coffee table.
"Hello, this is Lauren's phone," Damon answered.
'Damon, this Carol Lockwood. Is Lauren there?' I heard her ask.
Turning to face me, he smiled before handing me the phone.
"It's for you."
Grabbing the phone, I headed outside to the porch and stood against the brick fence.
"This is Lauren."
'Hi, Lauren. This is Carol Lockwood, Tyler's mother.'
"Hi, Mrs. Lockwook. How I can I help you?"
