Rolling over to my right side, I felt my legs brush up against something underneath the covers just as I relaxed on something warm and soft beside me.
The sound of their chest rising and slowly collapsing after, woke me up softly.
"Good Morning..." Matt whispered as I laid on his chest.
"What time is it?" I mumbled.
"It's almost 3rd period...it's a good thing you don't class at 9." He whispered, before kissing the top of my head.
Wrapping my arms around his torso, I hug him tighter trying to close the space between us, seeing as my left side was cold.
It had been almost a week since Vicki's body was found. Matt and his mom had planned the funeral the next day, and later on, in the week they had finally buried her beside Matt's family in the cemetery. Everyone who knew the Donavan's showed up, Sheriff Forbes and Caroline, the Lockwood family, Elena and Jeremy, even Stefan and Damon.
It wasn't easy for him or his mom, he just couldn't be left alone, so I stayed. Every day for a week, until I knew he was comfortable being on his own now knowing the real truth about Vicki.
Finally getting out of bed, Matt had walked into the bathroom leaving the door slightly open for me to see him.
"You know...it'll be a lot faster if you take a shower with me." He said, peeking his head out of the bathroom.
"I'll take my chances," I whispered, laying on my side.
Hearing the water run inside the room, I glanced around, taking in the trophies and the plaques on his wall. Pictures of him and Elena when they were little were frame near the back of his shelf, as a few track medals covered their faces.
Pictures of Vicki and Matt when they were younger stood behind the trophies, hidden away, catching dust. But there was another one, it was a man and Matt, who was about 6 years old at the time. He was wearing a red and black football jersey, while the man beside him, who looked proud, was standing in a white t-shirt and some dark washed jeans.
"...That's my dad." Matt whispered to me.
"...Jesus..." I gasped, taking a step to the side.
"Sorry..."
"You look just like him," I added.
"At least if I ever have a family, I'd choose to stay." He hissed before opening one of the drawers in front of me and pulling out from underwear and socks.
"Are you gonna shower? I think I can find some of Vicki's old clothes."
"No...I have to go home, anyway. And I'm pretty sure your mom would freak if she saw me walking around town wearing her daughter's clothing." I chuckled.
Smirking at me, he throws his clothes on the bed before closing the distance between us.
"Thank you, for staying."
"You're welcome..." I whispered.
Reaching up to the side of his face, I pull him down, pressing his lips on mine before pulling away.
"I'll see you after school?" I asked him.
"Hmm..." He moaned, licking his bottom lip.
"I'll take that as a yes."
Walking out of his room, I grabbed my keys from the table beside the door, as he stood int he middle of his room, watching me head down the stairs.

Closing the front door of my house, I could hear Damon and a bottle of bourbon clink against the glass liquor table.
"It's 10 in the morning, and you're already day-drinking?" I asked.
