Stefan's POV

"She's out of the tomb?" Bonnie whispered.

"Yeah. We're dealing with it, all right? Just be extra careful. She's getting a little too good at impersonating Elena." I said as students passed around us.

"With Katherine sill around, we gotta find a way to get your powers back," Jeremy added.

"Listen. I want to get the Martins on our side. I want to figure out a way for us all to work together, now that Elijah is out of the picture, and he isn't putting words into Lauren's head."

"It's impossible. They hate us." Bonnie added.

"It's either, win them over or somebody's going to end up dead. You think you can at least convince them to have a civil conversation?"

"I'll try."

"Thanks. We'll meet at the grill after school?"

"Yeah, good," Jeremy whispered before I left them.

Lauren's POV

"Hey, Matt," I said, as he was putting up posters on the walls.

"Hey."

"Live band?" I asked, looking at the poster.

"Yeah, business has been a little slow. The Grill's trying to stay afloat."

"Aren't we all?"

Walking down the hall beside him, I could sense that he was concern mixed with anger as his heart couldn't stop beating.

"Have you heard from Tyler?" He asked.

"No, you?"

"No, not since he stopped by the Grill to talk, and I've left messages on his cell phone."

"He stopped by to see you? What did he say?" I asked.

"Not much, really. I mean...I think to say goodbye without really saying goodbye. I just didn't it."

"And that's all he said?"

"Yeah." He sighed as we reached the end of the hall.

"Yeah, that's all he said, Lauren. Why? I mean, is there something you want to tell me?"

"Yeah. I-...uh, I was gonna-...it's just not that easy." I whispered.

"I don't get it. Since when have I been the one that can express himself and you're the one lost for words?"

"You're right, and I'm sorry."

"You know how I feel. So it's your move. Just make a decision or leave me alone." He whispered before walking away.

Stefan's POV

Sitting at a table in the middle of the Grill, Bonnie and I waited for Jonas and Luka to come, and they did. Just in time.

"Thank you for coming," I said standing up and offering them a seat.

"I didn't want to. But my son made a case to hear you out."

"Bonnie said that you have information about Elijah," Luka asked.

"Elijah's dead. I'm sorry." I blurted out, glancing around the table and noticing the guilty and angry looks just when Jonas had abruptly stood up, I grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back down to his chair.

"Hear me out. We can help you. Please." I asked.

"We know that Klaus has your daughter. I'm sorry about the way I had to get that information, but it's good that we know. We can all work together to get her back." Bonnie whispered.
