Sitting in the middle of the doorway, I dozed off for the past hour I had been watching Jeremy. The containment spell had started to wear off and the smell of his body slowly seeped out from beneath the mattress. Stefan had passed by a few times while I had performed the spell again, leaving behind mugs of O-neg near my spot.
"How's it going?" He asked, standing at the foot of the bed as I finished the spell.
"It's going...but the spell helps a little bit."
"Thank you...I know this might be hard for you."
"...it's uncomfortable but, anything to help. Has Damon said anything?" I assured him.
"Yeah, he's-"
"Stefan! Lauren! They're here!" Caroline yelled from the living room.
Taking a few moments to make sure the spell recovered Jeremy, Stefan and I casually headed down the stairs where the front door was left wide open.
'Hey, you made it.' Caroline laughed.
"I need to talk to Stefan and Lauren." Damon blurted out.
"What's wrong?"
Walking out of the house, my eyes were immediately drawn to Damon, who looks down towards Bonnie before focusing on me.
"Elena just got back, she'll be happy to see you," I said to Bonnie, moving over a bit to let Caroline and her through.
"What's going on?" Stefan mumbled.
Closing in on Damon, we waited for him to say something just as the front door closed.
"Damon-"
"She's out of her mind." He blurted out.
"Who? Bonnie. She looks fine to-"
"The nutty professor has got her totally brainwashed. The entire flight back home all she could talk about was how she's the one that can drop the veil between this side and the other side." Damon added.
"Wait, slow down." I sighed, shaking my head.
"Drop the veil? What does that mean?"
"It's basically another level of Dante's Inferno, but for supernatural creatures," I told Stefan leaning a bit of his shoulder.
"Professor Shane has been putting useless crap in Bonnie's brain. Telling her how she can bring Jeremy back from the dead and how only Qetsiyah's descendant is able to get the job done."
"He told her that?" I hissed.
"He's been telling her that for months, just now he convinced her that it's the only way."
"But how do we know that Bonnie is Qetsiyah's descendant-"
"She's not." I blurted out, cutting Stefan off.
"How do you know?"
Hearing my mothers voice in my head, repeating her warning about Bonnie, I avoided eye contact with either of them until Damon snapped be back.
"Lauren."
"Because I am," I assured, waiting for their reaction.
"How do you-"
"My mom showed me an Ancestral spell, it shows you your ancestors, starting from the first one..."
"So...you're what?" Damon whispered.
"I'm her great-granddaughter..."
Shocked, Stefan's arms dropped to his side glancing back and forth at Damon and me.
