Laying down on my balcony railing, I sipped on an entire bottle of Bourbon as Katherine paced back and forth, reading and sipping through the books on my shelf and the ones Damon brought me back from Duke.
"So, they think you're a vampire with powers?" Katherine questioned, leaning her back on the window frame.
"At this point, I'll take being a witch than a vampire with powers. I mean, when have you ever heard that phrase before. It's impossible." I chuckled, taking another shot of Bourbon.
Hearing silence after my voice, I turned to find Katherine looking at me.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Spill it, Petrova. You know something." I whispered suspiciously.
"It's not my place to say. I'll let Damon and Stefan deal with that, I'm the best friend, remember. Here to pick up the pieces."
"Why are you here? Other than, torment Stefan and Elena?"
Setting the book on the top shelf, she walks over to me.
"I came back for you. I know leaving me was harder than you expected it to be, and leaving George wasn't easy seeing as he gave you what you wanted-"
"I gave him the moonstone. It's what we agreed on." I whispered, taking another shot.
"Yeah, but...maybe what he felt for you was real."
"What are you talking about, Katherine?"
Propping myself up on my elbow, I held the bottle of Bourbon in my hand.
"You loved him...I mean, if everything worked out, you could've been Mrs. Lockwood." She joked, grabbing the bottle from my hands.
"Yeah, right. Vampires can't procreate."
"But we love to try." Katherine chuckled, handing me back the bottle.
"So, what are you gonna do with the books?"
"Read them? What else would you do. Unless we need a fire, you can't burn them too." I said sarcastically, contemplating my thoughts as I look up at the clouds.
"I think you should try to learn them, you never know, you might need them to go up against the Bennett witch."
"If Emily could hear you now." I laughed.
"I loved Emily, and I'm thankful for what she did for me. Now, Elizabeth on the other hand, she was different. Powerful, and fearless."
"Must be nice," I whispered.
"Hey. You can be just as powerful if not more than Elizabeth, you're a vampire for God sakes."
"But I'm not a Blackwell. Sheila said that the Blackwell's were the strongest and most powerful witches in Mystical Falls."
"Ahh...those stories. Did you know that I knew Aurora Blackwell?"
"Elizabeth's mother?"
"Yep. She was young, a few months before she married her husband. Do you know the story?" Katherine asked.
"She had 5 children, 2 boys, and 3 girls. The youngest boy died at war, while the 2 oldest daughters died of the plague."
"Actually, only one daughter died of the plague. The other two survive. Elizabeth and Scarlett Blackwell, but Scarlett died at birth...supposedly."
"Supposedly? What does that mean?" I asked.
"It means, Katherine is putting things in your head that shouldn't be said out loud." Stefan hissed.
