Slipping on my black jeans, I smoothed down the slits around my knees when there was a knock at the front door. Elizabeth and James were out of town for the weekend to deal with some matters in London, so I was left alone.

"Coming!"

Putting on a gray t-shirt, I ran downstairs and opened the door to Stefan.

"Lauren..." He sighed.

Holding the door open, I stared at him when I noticed the sound of his heart a few seconds later.

"Who died?" I asked.

"...Jenna. And John...I wanted to talk to you about something."

"How's Elena and Jeremy?" I blurted out.

"They're cooping, Caroline's distracting them for the meantime."

"Good. What about Klaus?"

"He's, um...Elijah didn't kill him."

"So, he turned?" I asked, furrowing my brows.

"Yeah."

Slowly, I nodded my head until I grabbed the door handle.

"Well...Goodbye."

Closing the door, Stefan's foot slides between the frame.

"Please. You can hate me all you want, but we need to talk about Damon." He whispered.

"I don't hate you, Stefan. You know why?"

"...why."

"Because Klaus is still alive. He'll come after you and Damon, to find me. And when he does, what makes you think he'll let you live?"

"Damon is dying." Stefan blurted out.

"...You're lying." I hissed, opening the door.

"The night of the full moon, when the two of you help Caroline and Tyler out of the tomb, he was bitten."

Shocked, I took a mental step back, as Stefan watched my reaction.

"What?"

"I've been trying to figure out what to do for Damon these last few hours, and I found out there might be a cure, but I have to find Klaus to get it."

"You won't be able to find him, he'll find you," I whispered.

"I can't wait any longer. I just thought you should know."

Watching him step back into the front porch he starts to head for his car when something in me shouted out for him.

"What do I need to do." I blurted out.

"I figured you wouldn't want to help?"

"I'm helping Damon, not you. He's my brother too, despite everything." I whispered.

"Do you know where Alaric's apartment is?" He asked.

Holding onto the wooden railing, I reached the top of the stairs to Room 9 nailed on the door.

Hesitantly, I pushed the door open and peaked my head inside, to find Katherine sitting on the bed.

"Katherine?" I whispered.

"Lauren!"

Shutting the door behind me, she runs over hugging me as strong as possible.

"Jesus, I thought he found you. Did he find you?"

"No? I've been staying at my family's home since. What are you doing here?" I asked her.

"I'm supposed to be free of Klaus' compulsion by now. He's supposed to be dead."
