Slowly and reluctantly, I shredded myself away from the remaining glimpses of a dream. My eyes still shut as I soaked in the warmth of my covers and stretch my arms out to the side to feel a cold spot.
"Tyler?" I groaned, pulling back the black sheet from my head.
Looking around as I blocked off the beaming sun, I was left in bed alone without a Tyler in sight, until the doorknob turned abruptly.
'Hey, hey, that's my room.' Tyler blurted out from a distance.
'Why is it closed?'
'Because it's my room, dumbass...my bed, my clothes.' I heard him say in a snarky tone.
Tearing the sheets wrapped around me, I leaned over still groggy from the other night.
'Who's inside? I heard someone.'
'Probably just my radio.'
Looking over my shoulder as my fingers ran through my hair the second set of footsteps left quietly before the doorknob shook again and Tyler walked inside.
"Hey, good, you're awake." He smiled, closing the door behind me.
"Yeah, what's going on?" I asked, facing him.
"Klaus, you know how he gets."
"Does he know I'm here?" I whispered, seeing as Tyler's attitude changed.
"Um, no...but he's gonna ask by this room is closed."
"I should probably go-"
"No! Stay..." He blurted out, jumping at the edge of the bed.
"I really don't want to deal with Klaus at...8 in the morning." I sighed, looking over at my phone.
Getting up, I walked over to the bathroom leaving the door open for Tyler to walk inside.
"So, are you gonna tell me?" He whispered, leaning against the door frame while I brushed my teeth.
Leaving a bit of silence between us, I spit out some of the burning toothpaste, letting the water running for a bit before turning it off.
"I got in a fight with James..."
"What? Why?" He blurted out.
"...he said something that made me angry."
And then, swiftly, Tyler's hands found their way around my waist, pulling me closer to him as I froze with my toothbrush in hand.
"What did he say?"
"Nothing, Tyler. You know how siblings can get-"
"Yeah, I do. But James is supposed to be the chill one, I expected this from Sebastian not him, so?"
Stepping back, I finished up brushing my teeth before leaning my back up against the counter, letting Tyler further into the room.
"Lillian Salvatore."
"Your mother?" He asked.
"Aurora wants revenge, badly. I thought she was joking, you know, like...just saying crap out of anger, but..."
"She's not." He sighed, furrowing his eyes.
"Nope. I came back home pretty late, and James caught me coming in."
"Where were you?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"At Stefan's, he wanted to talk about Elena."
"Is this about her feeding?"
"Yeah, asked if I could help and I said yes. James doesn't believe me, he thinks I told Stefan about what Aurora said." I sighed, letting my head fall between my chest.
