Running down the stairs near the Art wing, I headed around the corner and into the large gym, where every organization in school was working on their Founder's Day float.
"Hey, Greg," I said, walking up behind him with a large box of paint and brushes.
"Oh, thanks." He said taking the colors he needed.
Walking around handing paint out to the groups, I glanced over to find Matt looking at me.
"Hey..." I heard him whisper from across the room.
Smiling at him, I felt someone's hand on my shoulder.
"Where's Alaric?" Damon said as he stood behind me.
"Um, he should be over there, but I don't see him. What are you doing here?" I asked setting the box on the Art table.
"He called me, wanted everyone in his classroom. Let's go."
Following Damon out of the gym, we headed over to Alaric's classroom where Stefan and Elena were already inside.
"Damon. Lauren. Thanks for coming." Alaric said as he walked in.
"Sorry, I'm late. The dog ate my, uh...nevermind. What's all the furrowed brows?" Damon joked.
"I saw Isobel last night." Alaric blurted out.
"You what? She's in town?" I asked.
Seeing as Alaric nods his head, the three of us turn to look at Elena, who seemed anxious.

"Did you ask her about Uncle John? Are they working together?" Damon said as he moved around the room.
"No."
"No, they're not?"
"No, I didn't ask," Alaric whispered.
"What about the invention?"
"Didn't ask."
"Does she know about the tomb of vampires?" I asked.
"I don't know."
"Did wors completely escape you?" Damon hissed.
"No, I was a little too distracted by my dead vampire wife to ask any questions."
"What did she want?" I asked Alaric, pulling Damon back by his arm.
"She wants to see me," Elena whispered.
"Alaric is supposed to arrange a meeting. We don't know why or what she wants." Stefan added.
"She'll kill you." I blurted out.
"Really?" Alaric blurted out.
"If Isobel was hiding all of these years, she came back because Elena knows who she is. And if I was her, I'd get rid of the only thing standing in my way from getting what I want."
"The invention," Elena whispered.
"You don't have to see her if you don't want to," Damon said to Elena.
"I don't really have a choice."
"She's threatened to go on a killing spree," Alaric added.
"Oh...I take it that's...not okay with you guys." Damon said.
"I want to do it. I want to meet her. If I don't, I know I'll regret it."
A FEW HOURS LATER.
Sitting at the bar, I grabbed my glass of bourbon as I watched Elena from the corner of the building, while Stefan was near the pool table.
"Can I get you anything else?" I heard Matt say as he walked up behind me.
