'Watch over Rose, will you?'
'Where are you going?'
Changing out of my old clothes from last night, I slipped on a black and ivory striped dress which stopped about mid-thigh, before putting on an olive green jacket.
Hearing Damon come up the steps, I hurried to grab more clothes as well as zip up my black heeled boots, before I flew out the room, without him detecting me.
Throwing the bag of clothes into the back of my car, I drove off and headed to school.

Trying to find a parking spot, I weaved my way through the crowds of high schools, as they carried fall items and pumpkins to the picnic tables outside the school.
Heading through, I said hello to some of my friends from Art class, just before I found Tyler on the other end of the parking lot waiting for me.
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"I'm okay. Sore. Every muscle aches."
"You did it. You know, you...your first full moon, and you didn't hurt anyone." I whispered.
"It'll get easier. You'll get better at it, you'll learn to control it and it won't hurt so much." I added.
"Well, we don't know any of that for sure." He whispered.
"No, but small victories, Tyler. Last night was a victory. You know? Let's take it." I chuckled., followed by him joining me.
"Look, I really want to thank you. You were going through your own thing, and you still managed-"
"It's okay, Tyler. Like I said...it'll get easier." I sighed.
"I just...I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't been there." He said as we looked at each other playfully.
"Um...Yeah, anyway, um...next month we should probably, uh, reinforce the wall, because it almost got me that one time, and it just would have been, um..."
"What?" Tyler asked.
"Never mind. It's-"
"Wait, no, hey. No...what is it?" He asked as I tried to change the conversation.
"Well, it's not a big thing. It's just that one bite, and it's, uh, you know, curtains for me." I sighed.
"What are you talking about?"
"Legend has it that...a bite from a werewolf can kill a vampire," I said quietly.
"How do you know that?"
"I...I read it somewhere. Um-"
"Hey, Lauren. You got a second?" I heard Matt call out.
"Hey, Matt," Tyler said, stepping aside.
"Uh, yeah, sure," I whispered, as he came between Tyler and me.
"I'll see you guys later," Tyler said, before heading off and joining the other guys on the team.
"That was nothing, okay?" I told Matt.
"There is nothing going on between Tyler and I. We were just talking-"
"I believe you." Matt blurted out.
"What?"
"Look, Lauren. You're a lot of things, but you're not a liar. You've always been straight with me. I believe you."
"Well...Good." I smiled.
"And that's why I want to be straight with you because I...I think we got some wires crossed here."
