Eleanor P.O.V
I watched as Freya and Harry walked in front of me into her room, so we could tuck Freya in for the night.
They were obsessed with each other in such a short amount of time frame. I saw how Freya held onto Harry's hand and he to hers.
We got into her room, Freya climbed on the bed while I picked out her pajamas for the night while Harry stood close by. I picked out Fey's favorite pink jumper from one of her dressers. When she saw it, her eyes lit up excitedly.
"Mommy, is Daddy coming back tomorrow?" She asked me after I handed the jumper to her.
My eyes travelled to Harry who was looking at me as well.
"He'll have breakfast with us." I said, seeing how Harry's eyes widened with appreciation. I knew that all he wanted was a chance to be with Freya. I looked at my daughter's reaction that made it all worth it.
That beautiful beaming smile was what made doing hard things worth it. Harry was there now and I had to share our daughter with him. That was not something I was used to. I'll even admit that it made me jealous to see how they bonded so naturally. Seeing Freya happy made all that go away. Her happiness sas my happiness. That was all that really mattered.
Part of me also felt guilt for keeping Freya from Harry for the first four years of her life. When we were arguing earlier, some of the things he said made sense.
I would have been pissed and hurt that I went about my life for four years without knowing my kid existed.
Freya changed into the jumper quickly in front of us. Harry being a gentleman with his own daughter, looked away and that made my heart melt. Freya put her old clothes away in the dirty hamper then went on to get into bed.
She sat up right, letting me know she wanted her hugs and kisses for the night.
I sat down beside her on the bed, wrapping my arms around my little bean.
"Goodnight my love. I love you with my whole heart." I gave her a smile before I went on to kiss her face.
In that moment, my arms were squeezed a fraction tighter and Freya breathed more slowly. Her body melted into mines as every muscle lost it's tension. I held on for a few more seconds before letting go, so Harry got a chance. It felt surreal to me, seeing my daughter with her father. I never thought I would get to see it and now that I was, I was loving it. Freya was so happy that Harry was there. We still had a lot to discuss between us though.
I watched as he walked up to her slowly and pulled her close to him, wrapping his arms around her. His embrace was warm, and his big, strong arms seemed very protective when wrapped around Freya's small body.
The world melted around me as I watched her squeezed him back. The hug was a simple enough gesture -affection, perhaps the fragile beginnings of love.
"Sleep well love. I'll see you in the morning." Harry said to her before kissing Freya at the temple.
"You promise you'll come?" Freya looked into his eyes hopeful.
"I always will Freya." He told her wholeheartedly.
Freya beamed and I saw how that pulled a deep grin out of Harry.
