Divergent;an alternate ending

Chapter 63

Hola my friends. Sorry for the delay! I have finals and regents and school stuff. bleh.

Tobias POV

 I like giving cupcakes to Ellie. She always ends up getting it all over her face and it's just too adorable.

"Ellie, look what daddy's got," Tris says. Ellie is sitting in her highchair finishing her dinner as I reveal the cupcakes.

"Ooh!" She says, clapping her hands. I chuckle as I bring one to her-dauntless chocolate cupcakes.

"cukak," she says. Tris and I look at her.

"Cupcay," she says. Tris grabs my hand.

"Tobias, she's saying cupcake," Tris says. I sit down in front of Ellie.

"Cupcake?" I ask Ellie.

"Cupcake!" She says. Tris gasps and laughs. Her eyes and mine water as Ellie stares at us.

"Cupcake," Ellie says. Tears slip from Tris's eyes as she stands and hugs me. I hug her back.

"Tobias, her first word," she says.

"I know," I say. 

"Cupcake," Ellie says. I laugh and so does Tris. 

"Yeah, cupcake," Tris says, breaking off a piece and feeding it to Ellie.

"Yum!" Ellie says. Tris and I chuckle.

"Yeah," I say. She eats the cupcake, still getting it on her face.

Tris runs to get her phone and takes a picture. Ellie has a huge smile on her face, along with cake. I lift her out of her high chair and kiss her, getting cupcake on my face.

"Cupcake," Ellie says. I chuckle.

"Let's get you washed up," I say. I carry her into the bathroom where I set her on the counter.

"I brought washcloths and towels," Tris says.

"Okay," I answer. Tris helps me undress Ellie as the water runs. I tickle Ellie's pale stomach, making her laugh.

"You are a little cupcake," Tris says.

"Cupcake!" Ellie says. I smile.

"I love you two," I say, kissing Tris's head and Ellie's head.

"We love you too." Tris says. I lift Ellie up and slowly place her in the bathtub. She panics at first, them relaxes, reaching for her rubber duck toy. She entertains herself with that as Tris and I kneel on the floor in front of her.

"Cupcake?" Ellie asks, looking at the duck.

"No, ducky,"Tris says. Ellie just stares at her.

"Hey, we got yay and cupcake in one day," I say, wrapping an arm around Tris.

"I'm so proud of her," Tris says.

"Me too," I reply.  Tris and I shampoo and wash Ellie, removing the cupcake from her face. I lift Ellie from the bathtub and wrap her in a small purple towel. I dry her body and hair and move her to the changing table.

I pull out a baby pink footsie with a zipper from the foot to the neck. It's cute.

I put her diaper on first. It's been easier since i've been doing it for months now. I slip her small feet in the  pajamas, then her legs.

Ellie has her small hand in her mouth, softly biting it with her few teeth. I remove her hand to slip it into the sleeve, and she then places it back in her mouth, staring up at me. She makes small noises which is very cute.

I zip the pajamas and fix her hair. It's gotten longer, but it's still a patch on her head. She reaches up to me and I lift her up. I fix her in my arms so she looks up at me. She continues to make those small noises. 

"Want a bedtime story?" I ask. Ellie coos a little.

"I'll take that as a yes." I say. I move to her bookshelf and look for a good story. I read all of them, but Ellie points to Goodnight Moon.

"Again?" I say. She makes a small noise.

"Okay then," I say. I grab the book off he shelf and move back to my room. Tris lays on the bed with the bottle on her bedside table.

"Let's feed her first," She says. I nod and hand Ellie to Tris. Tris slips the bottle into Ellie's mouth and Ellie starts sucking it down.

"She wanted goodnight moon," I say. Tris smiles.

"I love that one." She says. 

"Me too." I reply.  Soon enough Ellie finishes her bottle and Tris burps her. She burps a few times. Tris props Ellie up in her arms so Ellie can see me.

"Okay," I say. I start to read the book, and Ellie's eyes get heavier and heavier. So do Tris's.

"Goodnight noises everywhere," I finish. Ellie and Tris are both asleep. It's cute. I take a picture-Tris will want it- and shut the lights. I crawl back into bed and take Ellie from Tris's arms. She stirs a little, but once I set her on her back in between Tris and I, she's fine. She makes noise when she breathes.

I kiss Tris's head, then Ellie's.

"Goodnight girls," I say. I lie down and place a hand on Ellie's stomach. I could never be happier right now.
