Y/n began to despise her mother after she broke the choker that Mark gave to her. She just couldn't believe or understand why her mother would do that.
Even though her mother told her she wasn't allowed to hang out with Mark anymore, she still did.
It's hard to break apart two best friends.
When Y/n told Mark what happened to the gift he had given her, he wasn't all too angry. He forgave her and understood that she didn't mean for that to happen or knew it would.

Every day Y/n would walk further and further from her home. She started to go to town more and wanted to know more about long ago. Mark's mother had warned her though to not go around asking people because there leader would not be too happy about it.

There leader was a middle aged man who tried his best to keep knowledge of the past away from his people. He claimed that it was a tragedy that should be forgotten.
In schools they didn't teach anything about the past and no one really knew anything about it.
It's also said that if anyone were to try and figure out anything, that the leader would send his men to find you and keep your mouth shut.

Y/n's POV
(Sixteen years old)

"And that's how you-" The sound of a large metal bell cuts off the teacher.
"See you guys in a few days." We all wave to our teacher and rush away.
"Y/n!" A familiar voice calls to me.
I turn around and spot my best friend in the whole wide world.
"Markimoo!" I squeal as I run over to hug him.
"How's my little sister been?" He asks, ending our embrace.
"Pretty good. You?"
A smile stretches across his tanned face.
"I have a surprise!" I begin to bounce on the heels of my feet.
"What is it?" I ask excitedly.
"Let's get to my place so I can show you." Taking his hand, we run through the damp tunnels to his small house on the other side of the systems. Our feet slapping against the concrete fills the silence around us. Occasionally we got a few weird stares from people walking by.
"Here!" I take a good look at Mark's small house.
He's told me where it is and what it looks like, but this is my first time actually seeing it in person.
"It's so cool." I stand in awe at the colorful makeshift walls against the dark colors of the tunnels.
"How did you do all this?" I ask.
"Well I used samples of different colored paints to paint the walls multicolor. My mom actually helped a bit." I smile.
"Also the door was pretty expensive, so were the actual walls themselves." I nod.
"I can't believe you constructed it so well too. Most people just throw their walls together like my house." He chuckles.
"I've spent a lot of time making it look nice because......." He trails off.
"When you turn eighteen o want you to move in with me." My smile grows bigger.
"Really?!" I ask.
"Really." He confirms.
"Oh my god Mark." I hug the big teddy bear of a man.
"You're the best fake brother I've ever had." He laughs.
"I'm glad." He says.
"Let's go inside." We let go of each other and enter the beautiful house.

The inside is as pretty as the outside. Each wall is painted a different color combination and he has actual chairs.
"Woah."
"You haven't even seen your room yet." My eyes go wide.
"My room?" I ask while pointing to myself.
"Yes, your room. Follow me."
The man leads me down a hall and past two doors before opening the last one. The room I quite small, but compared to my room at home it's huge. The walls are painted all different shades of f/c and there is even one of those expensive, comfortable beds in the corner.
"Mark." Tears start to fall down my face.
"Happy Birthday Y/n." My eyes go wide and I wipe away my tears.
"I'm sixteen today!" I yell.
I had almost forgot my own birthday.
"This isn't even the surprise I was telling you about." He tells me.
I turn to Mark with a look on my face that asks, 'are you serious?'.
He turns around and walks out the room and I follow him into another that has many different shade of red on the walls.
He points to something in the corner of the room. When I get closer to it I notice it's that computer thing he was telling me about years ago.
"You finished it?" I ask.
"Yup. Wanna use it? I even have extra electricity."
I nod my head very fast.
"Of course I want to use it!" I shout.

We both take a seat on his bed.
"Click that button." I do as he says and click the red button.
Suddenly it changes from red to green and colors start to appear on the glass pane.
"Woah." I'm completely amazed.
"Now take that rock looking thing with what looks like string sticking out of it." I look down and pick up the item he describes.
"Here." He takes my hand and places it back on the ground.
"You move it around like this." Mark uses my hand to push the rock thing across the ground.
On the glass pane I see a small white arrow moving across the screen.
"These are games." He moves my hand so the arrow thing goes over something and clicks a button on the rock thing, making something new appear on the glass pane.
In big bold letters it says, Five Nights at Freddy's with weird looking animal things moving around.
"This game is super scary." He tells me.
"Then what are we waiting for?" I ask.
"Let's play!"
