I didn't expect my phone to be reactivated so soon!
Enjoy this kind of late chapter.

Y/n's POV
(Still)

"Well Phil, thank you so much for the help. I think I can manage on my own now." I thank him.
"No problem. We should hang out sometime. I am setting up my house around the second quarter market. Next to the fabric stand." I nod.
"I'm moving into the first quarter." I tell him.
"Like I said before, I'm moving in with my brother." His eyes go wide.
"Man, your brother must have had to work hard to move up from the fourth quarter to the first, no offense." I chuckle.
"He's not my blood brother. He's actually just my best friend. His mother lives in the second quarter." I say.
"That makes more sense, no offense. And still, first quarter is hard to get up to. My parents are super rich and they still live in the second quarter." Phil says.
"Yeah, he only lives there because of his job. He works with ancient....electronics? Is that what they're called?" I more so ask myself.
"Wow! That's so cool!" I nod.
"Well I better get going. See ya' Phil!" I wave to my new friend as I open the front door.
"See ya' Y/n!"
I then enter the house.

"Where have you been." My mom more demands then asks.
"You don't care." I say while walking past her and to my room.
"Don't walk away from me young lady!" I can hear her footsteps coming up behind me.
"Too late." I say and open the door to my bed room.
The only things in this sad room are the very uncomfortable bed I have, my only other pair of clothes, a small backpack which the clothes are inside of, and the broken choker that Mark gave me a while back.
"If you keep talking back to me then you'll have to wait another month til I'll give you your walls." She's right behind me.
"I don't need your pathetic walls." I tell her while picking up the broken choker and small backpack.
Not looking at her, I walk right past her and out of the room that is no longer mine.
"Where do you think you're going?" Anger laces her voice.
"Home." I reply and walk out the house, slamming the already half broken door.

- - -

My walk to the first quarter takes a while. The fourth and first quarters are very far apart. There are actually five quarters.
The first, which has the richest people in the systems and people like Mark who have really important jobs. The second; rich people. The third; middle class. Fourth; lower class and are only given simple jobs like washing clothes and stuff like that. And finally there's the fifth quarter; the lowest class. If you think the fourth quarter is poor, then you've never been in the fifth quarter. I'm actually from there.
We moved up to the fourth when there was more of a demand for clean clothes. That meant more clients and more money.
Sadly you can tell which quarter someone is from off of how they're dressed. Us in the fourth wear pretty dark colors because dark fabric is cheap. First wear tons of jewelry, some people even wear suit; not many though.
Second wear brightly colored clothing most of the time. Third wears more of pastels because they're not as expensive as brighter colors and not as cheap as dark colors. And the fifth has the worst out of it. Some of them don't even have clothes. The ones that do get theirs from people who are throwing their old clothes away.

People stare at me like they always do as I pass through the second quarter. Looking down at my clothes, I see rips in the shorts I'm wearing and tears in my shirt. My shorts are an ugly grayish-red and my shirt is black with spots of brown from dirt.

No wonder why they stare.

I'm about to enter the first quarter when Mark's mom's house catches my eye.
"I should go and see how she's doing." I say to myself and walk toward her home.

*Knock*

*Knock*

*Knock*

I gently knock on her door.
It opens to reveal Mark's beautiful mother.
"Y/n!" She says as she hugs me.
"It's been a bit. Didn't you graduate today?" She asks.
"Yes, I did. I'm actually on my way to Mark's right now." I tell her.
"You should come in and have a seat." She opens up the door more so I can walk in.
I do so and have a seat on her comfy couch.
"I've missed having you and Mark running around this place."
I laugh.
"Yeah, those will always be my favorite memories. Now we get to run all around the first quarter." We laugh together.
"I actually have a graduation gift for you." Mark's mom suddenly pulls a box out of nowhere.
"You didn't have to." I tell her as she places it in my lap.
"Just open it." She says.
I nod and eagerly open it.

Inside is one of those flowers things that she had all around the house before and a thick green book.
"A book?" I ask while giving her a questioning glance.
"It's about the sky." She says.
"My mother gave that to me when I was younger. It's been passed down from generation to generation." My eyes go wide.
"Shouldn't you give this to Mark then?" I ask.
"No," She shakes her head.
"He's not as fascinated as you are with the place above us. Just a warning; keep it hidden. If our leader sees that then I don't know what would happen to you." I smile and nod my head really fast.
"You're the best Miss. Fischbach." I set down the book and hug her.
As we let go of each other I see how bright her smile is.
"You know, I use to be just like you. I loved the thought of the sky world." She tells me.
"Really?" I ask.
"Of course, but we can talk about that another time. You should he heading to Mark's now."
We both stand.
"Here's a bag." Miss. Fischbach hands me a f/c fabric bag.
"Make sure to keep the book inside it." She says.
"Yup." I open the door and give her another quick hug.
"Bye!" I wave and start to leave.
"Y/n!" Her stops me.
"Next time we talk I'll show you where I get the flowers."
