Y/n's POV

I lie in bed. It's cold. I feel like I don't belong. The bed smells like someone else and Dark isn't here with me. I shiver and hug my blankets closer. They don't feel like my blankets though. They're fuzzy, but almost like an animal fur. My eyes shoot open only to be met with darkness. The room has an unfamiliar feeling to it. I sit up and reach for my bedside lamp, but there's no table there. Confused, I shift my feet over the side and place them on the floor. I recoil as the cold hard-wood flooring shocks my feet.

This isn't my home.

I stand up and shuffle my way to the wall. I feel around until I touch a door. Gripping the knob, I twist it and head out the room. As I exit the room, suddenly I'm entering a kitchen. At the island counter sits a woman. Her back it turned to me and she almost looks shadow-like.

"Um...excuse me?" She turns around, but still only looks like a shadow. "Where am I?" I ask. I can sense a sad smile on her face. "Your house." She tells me. I raise my eyebrow at her. "What do you mean? I don't live here." She sighs. "It doesn't matter. All that matters is the here and now." I'm still confused, but decide to keep listening. "You must not do this." She tells me. "Do what?" I question. "I can't say exactly. I'm not even suppose to be interacting with you." She says. "I've really been crossing the line this time." I hear her slightly mumble under her breath. "Who are you?" I ask. "You already know who I am." She says. I try to think of who this woman could be, but my mind turns up blank. "Your voice sounds familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it." The woman seems sad. "That's okay. We'll be back together again some day." I begin to feel really tired. When I yawn, she stands from her chair. "Let's get you back to bed before you can't get back." She takes hold of my forearm and begins to lead me back to the bedroom. "Can't get back from where?" I yawn again. She doesn't answer as we enter the room. "I'm glad you've listened to me so far, but please listen to me when I say don't do this." I'm about to question her, but I begin to doze-off. "Goodnight Y/n."

--+Dream--End+--

"Y/n? Are you okay?" I hear a deep voice whisper to me from the darkness. Their cold hand runs through my hair. As I shiver, their hand heats up. "Dark?" I mumble. "What are you doing in here?" I ask. The weight of him pushes down the bed as he sits next to me. "You started screaming. I was worried." I frown, rolling into his lap. He continues to stroke my hair. "Go back to sleep." He tells me. I close my eyes and begin to just focus on Dark. Soon I fall asleep once more.

The sun shining in my face is what wakes me up. I groan and try to roll into my other side, but arms wrapped around me keep me from doing so. I take a peak over my shoulder to see Dark peacefully sleeping next to me. I smile and am about to fall back asleep when I remember what today is.

The protest.

Using all my strength, I pry Dark's off me and quickly get to my feet. A loud sigh resonates through the room as I exit and head down stairs.

"What's with the rush?" Anti asks as I nearly knock over a chair while going into the kitchen. "I need to get to The Center for a protest today!" I tell him. I'm about to turn and go get Mark when a darkness encases me. I help as I'm pulled backwards. "Protest?" The darkness clears up and I'm left with Dark tightly gripping my right forearm. "Yes, and if I don't go then Caila won't join us in war." I try to break free, but he won't let me. "Y/n, you'll be killed if you go to that." I shake my head. "It doesn't matter." Anti scoffs from behind me. "If you die now for some stupid protest then everyone will submit to King Lucifer again and there will be no war." I sigh. "Then I just won't die." I jerk my arm towards me, catching Dark off guard. I head into the living room where Mark is. "Hey Y/n y-woah!" I take hold of Mark's hand and drag him towards the door. "Two Human's will get caught by Human-Catchers out there alone." I stop and look back at Dark and Anti. "Then come with." I growl. Dark shakes his head. "Any of us going there mean all of us will be killed! Do you forget that I work for the King?" Dark's comment takes me down a few notches. "He is relentless and won't even bat an eye at killing his best guard." I take in a deep breath. "Well I can't just not show up." I say. "Then Anti can take you two for a walk by The Center. I have to go to the castle." I nod sadly.

Dark gives me once last glance before his hologramet rings. His eyes widen as he looks at it. And then he's just gone. Just like that; only leaving a cloud of black smoke. It smells like ashes. I close my eyes and take in the scent.

What's been happening with us lately?

"Let's head out before things get too hectic." Anti says. It's clear that he doesn't want to do this. Mark nods and takes my hand before we head out the front door.

Good luck to us.
