Jack's POV
Right after Dark passed out Anti teleported him up to his room.
Mark then quickly came into the living room where I was already sitting next to Y/n's unconscious body.
I hold her hand tightly as tears well up in my eyes.
"Everything is going to be fine Y/n. You're going to be okay." Sadly it seems like I'm comforting myself more than her.
She looks at peace even though her ankle is twisted bckwards.
On her cheeks and the tip of her nose lies small burn marks.
"She has some in her hands too." Mark points out.
I flip over the hand that I'm holding to see burns in them too.
I quickly let go of her hand in fear that holding it will cause her pain.
To my right lies a first aid kit.
I open it up and pull out some antiseptic and bandages.
"Any Aloe Vera around here?" I ask as Anti enters the room.
"Extinct." He tells me.
"That plant hasn't been around since the war."
I frown.
I wipe the antiseptic on her hands and then wrap bandages around them.
I do the same to her cheeks and nose.
I rub on a bit and then place bandaids over them.
"Can't you heal?" Mark asks.
Anti chuckles.
"Myself, but not others." He says.
"Only Dark and Demons with healing powers can."
After I am done, I lightly hold her hand once again.
"Can hang onto this for a second?" Mark tries to hand Anti the antiseptic, but he jumps back.
"Get that away from me!" Anti shrieks.
I raise an eye brow at him.
"Why?" Mark questions.
"Antiseptic." He says. "That stuff will kill me."
I'm still confused.
Anti can see that and explains further.
"I'm an infection. That's my main power." He begins. "I can infect Humans and even Demons with deadly diseases."
"That's super cool." Mark comments.
"No, it isn't." Anti scoffs. "That means that medicine can possibly kill me. Its a good thing I'm a Demon and that we all basically don't need that crap to heal us." He says. "It also means that I can create a disease so bad that I could kill everyone in the world."
I nod, now understanding.
"Now get to bed. I'll set her ankle and then we have to wait for Dark to wake up and get his energy back to heal her."
Mark gets up off the floor and makes a space to sleep in the floor.
"What are you doing?" Anti asks.
"I'm not leaving until Y/n is awake and well." He responds.
"Neither am I." I say without looking away from Y/n.
I slightly squeeze her hand.
"Alright then. Just be mindful of Dark. He could wake up anywhere from a few hours from now to a few days from now." We're warned.
"If he comes down here to look for Y/n in the middle of the night then you should get out of here before he sees you."
"About Dark," I say before Anti can leave. "What was that earlier?"
Anti sighs before taking a seat on a nearby chair.
"I've only ever seen him do that one other time." He says. "And that was so long ago. It was way before he became as emotionally messed up as he is, or was."
Both Mark and I lean in to hear more.
"When Dark and I were younger we found this...animal." He begins. "Now most animals have gone extinct since the war hundreds of years ago, so this was really weird." He smiles slightly. "When doing research Dark and I found out that it was a puppy. We got attached really quickly."
I turn to better face Anti with Y/n's hand still in mine.
"We kept it in Dark's room and we named her Chica." Anti's smile then turns into a frown.
"It wasn't long until Dark's dad found the puppy. He yelled at Dark for hours about having it and then made him watch as he killed the poor thing."
My eyes widen.
A single tear runs down Mark's cheek.
"But that puppy didn't die without Dark putting up a good fight."
Anti looks into the dinning room at the broken window.
"Dark hugged that puppy tightly for four hours as his dad beat him and tried to get it away from him."
The look on Mark's face shows utter disbelief.
"His body was riddled with bruises and throns." He then laughs.
"You guys didn't even see the half of it. He also got a ring of fire around him and everything in the room began to float at some point."He really did put up one hell of a fight.
"When he screamed his dad went flying against a wall and his tears flooded the house with a black tar."
Imagining this is insane.
"That's why we had to knock him out. The last thing we needed was to all die because of his protective nature over Y/n."
Mark's sad expression changes into a soft smile.
"So he really does love her." I hear him whisper to himself.
I just frown at those words. He really does, doesn't he.
I look back at Y/n.
She said she loved him back.
At first I wasn't so sure about their relationship and was furious.
Now I'm positive that she didn't make the wrong choice.
Based off of what Mark told me before they came back, Dark had begun to panic about Y/n.
He then left to go find her.And find her he did.
"Well goodnight. I would stay down here, but I have to get good sleep to replenish all that power I used on Dark."
Mark and I say good night back and watch as Anti shakily walks up the stairs and into his room.
I go back to looking at Y/n with worry.
The second I hear the door close, I feel Mark's intense stare on me.
"Why did you tell me?" He asks.
"Tell you what?" I try to act confused.
"Don't act dumb. You know exactly what I'm talking about."
I sigh.
"Maybe because I thought you did too." I tell him.
Mark just laughs.
"Trust me, I did a long time ago." He tells me. "Long before we met."
"Did?" I question.
He nods.
I sigh.
"She obviously didn't feel the same anyways." I say.
Mark places his hand on my shoulder.
I look up at him and see his sad smile.
"Even if Y/n doesn't love you anymore than a brother, you'll always have her as a friend."
I smile back.
"Besides, there's still time to find someone else."
