Dark's jobs got even worse. He would take anyone given to him that Anti didn't want. Anti admits that he does some horrible things, but could never do anything to the extent that Dark does.
They both grew stronger with every job and loved what they did.
Most demons thought they were so perfect; so when one asked for help it was a beautiful sight. Watching the fear, sorrow, and anger in their eyes as they begged for help made Dark feel stronger without even needing to take their powers.
Then one day, Dark gets a call...Dark's POV
(Twenty-Three Years Old)"Ugh!" Anti's glitchy voice groans as he teleports into the room.
I cough a bit as the green smoke clears up.
"What's the problem?" I ask in a calm and relaxed tone.
"My job is so annoying." He sighs and sits down in a chair.
"This man needed help getting money to feed his children. I told him I would think of a deal and come back tomorrow to help him." He tells me.
"I don't see the problem." I say, confused.
"I cannot think of a deal that will get me what I want." Dark green goo oozes from his septiceye and he wipes it away with his shirt sleeve.
"Tell him you'll help him get food for his children if......" I think for a long moment.
"He kills someone elses child." A sadistic smirk spreads across Anti's face like butter.
"Thanks!"
"N-"*Ring-Ring*
*Ring-Ring*
I get cut off by my phone ringing.
"Um, hold on a second." I pick up my hologramet and look at the number; I don't recognize it.
"Hello?" I ask while clicking the green side button.
"Is this Dark Iplier?" An older male voice asks.
"Yes. May I ask who this is?"
"This is Mr. Bagla for the King." I feel my face go paler than it already is.
"I am calling because King Lucifer would like to meet with you." My fear turns to a bit of anger.
"Of course. When would your highness like to see me?"
I can hear papers shuffling and far away shouting.
"As soon as possible." I nod even though he cannot see me.
"Just give me the coordinates and I'll be right over." I tell him.
"18906west and 7829north from where your apartment is." He says.
"Okay, I'll be there soon Sir." I say.
He hangs up as I turn to Anti.
"What was that about?" He questions me.
"The King wants to speak with me." Anti's eyes go wide.
"That can't be good!" He expresses my exact thoughts.
"What if it's something that involves your dad?" Green oozes out his eye in large quantities.
"I don't know, but I have to leave right now." I stand and take a few steps away from my one and only friend.
"Don't die!" He says and waves to me as I disappear into a cloud of black smoke.- - -
The black smoke around me disappears and I'm left in front of the Kings castle.
"You're here." I turn to the voice I heard over my hologramet.
"I told the King you were amazing at your magics." Mr. Bagla opens the door to the castle.
"After you Mr. Iplier." I thank him and step inside the huge place.
A red carpet goes down the center of the room and the floor is a beautiful white marble. There are also really expensive looking vases on small, hand carved, tables.
"The throne room is this way Sir." He tells me and walks down the center of the long blood red carpet.
I follow close behind so I don't look away for a second and get lost. That's probably the last thing I need right now.
"Right through here." Mr. Bagla pulls open two massive doors. The throne room looks about half the size of the whole castle.
The red carpet leads directly to the throne where the King sits.
"Ah, Mr. Iplier." His voice booms in the giant room.
"It didn't take you long to get here at all." I nod.
"I just simply teleported." I tell him honestly.
"Most demons can't just be given coordinates and teleport there." He says.
"Well I'm not like lost demons." I reply and walk closer.
"That's good. Now for the reason why I asked you to come here." He starts.
"Please tell it doesn't have anything to do with my father." King Lucifer chuckles.
"Of course not. Your father is an army general now so he's not anywhere near here." He says.
"The reason I called you here is because I've heard of the work you do." I swallow the lump in my throat. The type of work that Anti and I do is considered illegal in a way.
What I mean by in a way is that you're not allowed to basically torcher other demons. Our work is considered a form of torcher because we get them to do something they don't want to and then have them do something even worse to get what they've lost back. The act we normally make them do involves murdering someone else or giving up all of their powers. We even sometimes drive people insane."I didn't call you here to arrest you. I could have easily done that without calling you here." I nod.
"I want you to work for me." I furrow my eyebrows.
"I beg your pardon?"
"I want you to be one of my guards. With hard work maybe even my head guard."
I stare at him for a moment before busting out with laughter.
"I'm not like my father." I tell him.
"I love the job I have now and don't feel like trading it." I say.
"You're right, you're not like your father. That is exactly why I like you. You have some of the strongest magic I've seen. I can't even pull off some of the spells you can perfectly. You would also be able to keep doing your other job. You would just have to assist me when I go out in public."
I think for a moment.
"So Dark, do we have a deal?"
That question brings me out of my thoughts.
"I don't take deals, I make them." I say.
"Fine, do you agree to be my guard?" He asks.
After a moment of thinking through all the possibilities, I respond...
