Dark's POV

I stare down at my spell and universe history book.
I've been trying to decifer this one page for so long. It just seems like something doesnt want me to.
It's in a language I dont reconize which is weird since Demons know every language.

Maybe it's some sort of code?

I shake my head.
The book is so old that a code wouldnt be needed.
I bring the book closer to my face to see of I'm missing something.
The second I get too close, my face feels like it's burning.
I drop it on the floor, putting my hand to my face.

That feeling.

I walk hastily to my mirror to look at my face.
There is a very distinct burn mark on my cheek.
My eyes widen.

Is that why I cant read that part?

The burn on my cheek is concentrated in one spot.
It's blueish and almost looks like a bruise.
I touch the spot with my hand only for it to burn my finger too.
I wince.
Holy Water.

Why is it on this book?
Why does it only burn me if I bring my face really close?

I pick the book back up and examine it.
"Could have been written by an Angel, but I haven't seen an Angel before. Besides, of course."
As I finish my sentence it's as if a lightbulb went off inside my head.
Holding the book close, I teleport to the Kings castle.
"Mr. Iplier, we weren't-"
I push past the guard as I go straight into the throne room.
There sits Lucy on his throne while he chats with a guard.
Once he notices my presence, he shoos the guard away.
They quickly walk out the room as I approach Lucifer.
"My King," I bow.
"I told you to just call me Lucy, Dark."
I nod.
"I was expecting you. What is it that you need though?" He asks.
"I have this old book. There's a page in it that I can't read." I tell him.
Lucy just laughs.
"Probably some Human gibberish then." He says.
"No," I hold up the book. "It burned me with Holy Water when I put mt face really close to it."
His eyes widen as they lay on the leather book.
Lucy teleports in front of me, taking the book from my hands.
The second he touches it, he almost drops it.
A slight wince indicates that he can feel it too but stronger for some reason.
"Where did you get this?" He asks, a crazy look in his eyes.
"I am not quite sure. It just showed up on my bookshelf oneday."
He nods as he begins to flip through the pages.
"I havent seen this book in a long time." King Lucifer chuckles.
"What do you mean?"
He looks ul at me, closing the book and handing it back.
"The burn, that's because an Angel made it." He tells me.
"But then why do we not get burned when we just touch it."
I glance down at his burned hands.
"Why do I not get burned?" I ask.
Lucy just laughs.
"That's because I was cursed to be harmed by everything that is related to Heaven in any way." He says.
"That book was written by someone who was half Demon and half Angel."
He begins to walk back to his throne, leaving me standing there, confused.
"What? Those exist?"
Lucifer get back on his throne and stares me in the eye.
"Not exactly." He says. "I am not allowed to speak of it."
I roll my eyes.
"Why? Because God told you that you couldn't?" I ask, slightly angry.
His eyes glow a faint red.
"No. Both him and I are not allowed to speak of it. No one is."
I glare at him.
"I may be Satan, but I do take all of my promises very seriously. The person who wrote that book is being protected. The reasons you wouldn't be able to understand."
Lucy slightly frowns.
"I've already said far too much. Now go."
I growl before teleporting into a random hallway in the castle.

What is he hiding from me?
Why is he hiding it?
Why is the writer so important that they're under some sort of protevtion-lockdown-thing?

I begin to wander the halls when a door catched my eye.
It's the Kings room.

He'll know if I go in there.

I stand there staring at the door.

But I could literally give two fucks.

I open the door and enter; closing the door behind me.
Lucifer's room isn't what I expected.
The walls are a beige color and a large bed with black sheets is in the center of the room.
A large dresser is against the right wall, a wardrobe against the left wall, and a fluffy black carpet sits at the foot of the bed.
A painting of Lucifer and God is above the bed.

I would have burned that.

I b-line straight for the dresser and begin to go through it.
I start at the bottom drawer.
It's filled with clothes.

What?

I look back at the wardrobe and use my magic to open it.
It's filled with more clothes.
"He literally only ever wears one damn outfit everyday." I mumble.
I continue to go through the dresser until i make it to the top one.
I start to go through it and it just seems like more shirts.
I sigh and am about to close it when I notice something.
Reaching to the bottom of the drawer, I pull out two photos.
Both of them are cut in half, but they don't fit together.
One is of Lucifer. Th other person in the photo is cut off.
The other is of a man who I dont reconize.
I look on the back of the one of the man and read whats written on it.
Levi.
I turn it back around and begin to examine the picture more.
The man has tanned skin, chocolate hair, and dark brown eyes with bits of lighter brown in them.
I even know he was a Demon if he wasnt smiling, showing his fangs, and his palm up, a flame dancing around it.
He seems to be slightlt looking to whoever use to be in the picture with him.
Hearing a noise outside the hall, I take a mental picture of the man and teleport back home.
"Who is that?" I ask myself.
A knock on my door startles me.
"Dark? It's time for dinner."
My chest feels warm at the sound of Y/n's voice.

Get yourseld together.

I put the book back on my shelf and straighten my suit.
Walking over to the door, I open it.
There stands Y/n with a smile on her face.
I surpress my own smile and nod.
"Come." I say and we head down stairs.

I'll find this Levi man another time.
