"How about this dress?" Peridot pulls a silver dress from my closet. It's sparkly with little bells on the bottom. "No!" I cross my arms, pouring. "Well you have to wear something." I shake my head. "Mommy said I could wear her dress!" I can see the sadness in her green eyes as I say that. "But her dress is too big." I stomp my feet and look away from Peri. She sighs. "Then I guess you can't come to the party."

Peri then leaves my room. I won't fall for her tricks again. She did this last year to get me to put on one of my own dresses. Mommy promised I could wear one of her's. I already had the exact one in mind that I wanted to wear. After a few minutes I hear Peri walk away from my door and down the hallway. I smile to myself and jump onto my bed.

Mommy never goes back on her promises.

I sit there and wait for her to come into my room. I know she'll bring me the dress. I don't sit there for long when my door opens. Excitement fills my body as I swing around with a big smile on my face. Only it isn't who I expected. In the doorway stands a shadowy figure. Startled, I jump back against my beds headboard.

"Who are you?" I ask. I feel as if they're smiling sweetly at me. "Your mother asked me to fix one of her dresses for you." The shadowy figure holds up the exact dress of Mommy's that I want to wear. "Woah!" I quickly get off my bed and run over to the figure. "Thank you so much Shadow!" I give them a name. Their laugh sounds feminin. She then ruffles my hair. "Why don't you call Peridot up here to help you get dressed?" I nod excitedly. She then leaves my room. "Bye Shadow!" I wave to her as she leaves.

I stand there and stare at the beautiful dress. I can tell that this is actually Mommy's and not just a smaller recreation because it has the small black line on the sleeve from marker that I did when I was really younger. Daddy wasn't too happy about that. I giggle to myself and run to the top of the stairs.

"Peri!" I yell down. "What?" She looks up the stairs at me. "Look what Mommy's friend did!"

I hold up the dress for her to see. Her eyes widen. Peri rushes up the stairs, going past me. I follow her as she goes into Mommy and Daddy's room. She swings open the wardrobes door and looks inside for something. She stops after a few seconds and kneels down in front of me.

"Who gave you that dress?" She asks. "Mommy's friend Shadow! She said that Mommy told her to make it my size." Peri seems worried about something. "Well lets go and get it on you." She says with a half smile. "Yay!!!" I shout and run back to my room.

Peridot helps me into the dress and puts and white flower crown a top my head. Next I put on black sneakers and my angel wing necklace.

"You look so pretty in that dress." I smile at the sound of her voice and quickly run past Peridot to hug her. "I knew it would look amazing on you." She hugs me tightly, my face burried in her brown hair. "You're gonna kill her Mom." Peri laughs. She let's go and I can't help but look at her glowing honey eyes. "Can you put lights in my crown?" I ask. She nods. She points her finger in the air and a few fireflies appear. "I didn't know you could do that." Peri says as the fireflies land on my crown. "They're related to light so they're within my skill set."

She picks me up and carries me down stairs with Peri walking next to us. I can't seem to stop smiling. I'm placed on the black couch in the empty living room.

"Why don't you stay here while I finish up the cooking." She tells me. I nod. "Where's Dad?" Peri asks her. "Outside." Peri smiles and rushes to the door. "I'll be back in a bit Mom!" She shouts and rushes outside. It's then just me alone with Mommy. "Merry Christmas Mommy." I say with a smile. She said she wouldn't be able to talk today, only listen because she'd be busy. "Your dress is so pretty. I knew you wouldn't break your promise." I get up off the couch so I can sit on the floor in front of her. "I got you a present! I'll give it to you later though cause I know you're busy." The fireplace feels warm against my cool skin. "Daddy helped me with it. He said he knows you'll love it." I look out the window to see the sun beginning to set. I turn back to Mommy and smile. "I can't wait to eat!"

The front door opens and the rest of my family piles inside. They all wave to me before heading into the kitchen.

"It's almost time for food." I say. "Daddy's making your favorite." Loud chatter comes from the dinning room, but I ignore them. "It's my favorite too." I giggle. "Arin!" Daddy shouts. "It's time for dinner!"

I get up from the floor and push my black hair away from my e/c eyes. I brush off my f/c dress and head into the dinning room. There I take a seat next to Uncle Anti who has Aunt Winter on the other side of him. He smiles at me as I sit down.

"Well don't you look beautiful you little drop." I smile. "Thank you Uncle Anti." He turns to Aunt Winter. "You look pretty too." He kisses her on the cheek before placing his hand on her protruding stomach. "Merry Christmas Eve little one." I hear him whisper.

I wait for everyone else to take their seat before looking to my left. I notice the seat is empty and a huge smile spreads across my face. I begin to jump in my seat with excitement.

"Can Mommy sit next to me?" I ask Daddy. He nods with a small sad smile on his face. I then launch out of my chair and run into the living room. "Let me help you sweetheart."

Uncle Mark reaches above the fireplace and picks up the metal container. He hands it to me. He follows close behind as I run into the dinning room.

"Be careful with her." Daddy tells me. I watch as he brushes his fingers through his black hair. "Show me your eyes!" I say. Black dusts his face, but he does as I ask. Small speckles of brown appear in his black eyes. I giggle and head back to my seat. "She's really got you wrapped around her finger Dark." Uncle PewDIE chuckles. "Just like Y/n did." Uncle Anti point out. Everyone laughs while I set the container down on the table next to me as I sit. "Let's eat."

They begin to pass around the food as I run my small fingers over the engravings on the metal container.
