Such a lovely-

…What does that say?….

[paper rustles]

Ah. Island.

Such a lovely island. Seems a shame for it to be out there.

So I’ll just catch– No. It says snag. Why did I say catch? God. Don’t be an idiot.

[sigh]

Okay. Lovely island, blah blah blah….

So I’ll just snag it with a rope and take it away.

… What is this lady even writing about? I get that she’s a really great poet but…

Augh! I shouldn’t get sidetracked. I have a week and a week only to memorize this.

[shudder]

I don’t want a repeat of last year’s poetry week. Cramming that whole poem into my brain the night before… I’m surprised I remembered the first stanza. Luckily this one is short…

[sigh]

[muttering] Lovely island… So laughed a sailor from the North… He’s lying. He’s lying….

[normal volume] This is short. I can get this in like a day or two. I have time. [throws paper]

[sits at their desk] Now, let us look at a form of storytelling that’s much more superior to poetry. Video games. Yes. The story of a corporation of cyborgs and a rebel group. Much more interesting than a sailor trying to buy an island or whatever.

Nanto utsukushii shima da. Koko ni atte mottainai janai ka.

Dakara ore wa are wo tsukamatte– Iyaa. Kakimidasu tte kaiteru. Nande ‘tsukamu’ to itta no? Mou. Baka na koto iwanaide.

[sigh]

Yoshi. Kono utsukushii shima, nantoka nantoka nantoka….

Dakara ore ga are wo nawa de kakimidashite ubau… Kono onna ittai nani kaiteru no? Sugoi shijin da to wakaru kedo kore wa naa..

Agh! Nagare ni makikondara dame da(male)/dame(female). Kore wo oboeru tame ni isshukan shika nai kara.

[shudder]

Senshuu no uta no jugyou mitai na onaji mono hoshiku nai.

Hisshi ni ano uta wo zenbu mae no hitoban dake ni narau nante.. Saishou no sutanza wo oboeta dake de bikkurishita. Konkai no wa chiisakute yokatta..
