The Dark Magician

Yugi's POV

[3 months later]

I flopped onto my bed bored, it was summer vacation. *What's wrong aibou?* 《I'm boooorrrred》 <I am too, nothing's happened in the last 2 months> I picked up my deck, sorting out each card into a different category. I pulled out my Dark Magician card 《my favorite monster》 <I like the blue eyes white dragon> +Winged Dragon of Ra+ I looked up as I received a text.

Seto: I'm bored, I'll go crazy if I don't find something to do soon

Yugi: how about a duel, you vs me?

Seto: ok

I got up and headed to Seto's house. I met him on the roof "let's duel" Seto said immediately summoning a monster. Half way into the duel Seto believed he was going to win until "I summon my Dark Magician!" I shouted triumphantly. I smiled "my Dark Magician has never failed me! Prepare to lose Kaiba!" I growled playfully before destroying his monster and taking out the rest of his life points. <you really cherish your Dark Magician don't you?> 《yes, I feel like I can always depend on him and he won't fail me because I believe in him and his student the Dark Magician girl》 I held my Dark Magician close to me "yes, I could never part with him. He's like a friend to me. He's very valuable to me" I replied happily. <hmmm, I'm sure he feels the same way about you little prince> as I was walking back home someone attacked me and stole my Dark Magician. "NO!" I shouted chasing after them. They noticed me chasing them and threw my precious monster card into the ocean. I dove after it *Yugi! The current is too strong! You'll drown!* I quickly grabbed my Dark Magician and held it close. "I won't lose my favorite monster!" I shouted angrily. I struggled to stay above the surface +it's not worth your life Yugi!+ 《my mother gave me my Dark Magician! I won't lose him!》 I said as I was dragged beneath the water. <little prince!> I looked at my Dark Magician 'please forgive me. It looks like we both won't make it out of this my friend' I thought before losing consciousness.

[Time skip]

I awoke to warm sand under me 《where am I?》 *you washed up on an island* <I'm so glad you're still alive little prince! We were so worried> I looked around and noticed my Dark Magician card was still in my hand. I tried to get up but fell back down as pain flared through my right leg. "Argh! My leg!" I screamed as I lost consciousness once more. When I awoke again I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was being carried by the Dark Magician *in a desperate attempt to save you, the puzzle made your Dark Magician real* I looked up at the Magician "thank you" I said. He smiled at me "it's the least I can do after you risked your life to save me. Not many people would risk drowning to save their monster cards but you did. Why?" He asked curious. "Because I cherish you. You and the other Magicians are very valuable to me, I couldn't live without myself if I didn't at least try to save you" I replied purring. "You truly have a heart of gold. I'm glad to be considered a friend" he said gently petting my head. "I treat all my cards with the respect they deserve, I've lost a few of my monsters because of my enemies and the cruel people who hate me. I miss those monsters dearly" I whimpered. "Do you know the name of our fallen comrades?" The Magician asked. "Exodia the forbidden one. Lost because Weevil Underwood threw all five pieces into the ocean. I was unable to retrieve more than two pieces. One of my Dark Magician Girls, lost because Malik set her on fire. One of my Karibohs, lost because Akuma tore it up. And my white horned dragon, lost because Menace ate it" I replied. "Wait, ate it? Why would he do that?" He questioned. "It was thanks to that dragon that I defeated him in a duel and as revenge he shoved it in his mouth and swallowed it" I replied disturbed by the memory. "The poor dragon, it had to suffer such a terrible fate" the Dark Magician responded. "What about the lost Dark Magician Girl, she slowly burned and I couldn't do anything to save her!" I shouted angrily. "I'm sorry, I do miss her" he replied sadly. I pulled out my last Dark Magician Girl "I remember the first time I summoned my Dark Magician Girl, the look on my opponent's face was priceless. Especially after I explained that she gained 300 additional attack points for every Dark Magician or Magician of Black Magic in either player's graveyard. He had two Dark Magicians and I had one, that put her at 2900 attack points" I giggled. <hahaha> *it was hilarious* "I remember, the man was obsessed with Dark Magicians but didn't respect the ones he had" Dark replied. *tch if Yugi could he would have an entire deck full of Dark Magicians* +hahaha, so true+ I purred happily 《it's funny because I so would》 I felt my soul begin to weaken "I'm really sorry Dark Magician but keeping you as a real monster is draining my life energy" I whimpered. "It's ok Master Yugi, I'll always be here when you need me" he replied before gently placing me on the floor of a cave "thank you" I said before stopping the flow of energy and returning him to his card. I curled up against the wall 《I won't survive very long without medical attention soon》 <I'll go get Seto Kaiba> 《ok》
