"Why can't I come again?"

"Because, I have to suss her out, make sure she's the real deal," Kat explained for the hundredth time as she continued to get ready.

Tom was frowning as he watched her from their bed.

"But how does me being there effect anything?"

"Duh. If you're there she'll probably act nicer but if you're not there- if no one's there, she'll show me her true self."

"Uh huh," Tom was still skeptical, "What if she just acts nice whether I'm there or not- cause that's who she is?"

Kat turned around slowly now arms crossed, "I'm sorry, are you so upset about not being able to go out with her? Because you can easily-"

"Just, don't come back home too late," Tom cut her off, knowing where that was going.

"I can do what I want, Thomas."

"I know you can," he chuckled as he stood up, "But Tess and I will just miss you too much if you're gone for so long."

"I mean, I guess," Kat smiled now, leaning in to give him a kiss, "I'll bring you guys back food."

"Thank you, now go before you're late," Tom encouraged her.

"Wouldn't want to keep your girl waiting," Kat joked as she grabbed her bag when she was met by a glaring Tom, "I'm kidding!"

"I can't wait for you to realize that she's a good person who doesn't like me so you can finally stop with the jokes!"

"Me either," she giggled, giving Tom a long kiss before pulling away completely, "Bye, I love you."

"I love you more. You! Not her."

"Yeah, yeah," Kat fought back a massive smile as she left the room, saying her goodbyes to Tessa before getting in her car and driving to the restaurant she said she'd meet Danielle at.

When she did get to the restaurant, it was easy to spot Danielle sitting by the window which gave a view of the city.

Taking a deep breath, Kat walked over to her, trying to remain positive so she wouldn't give off the wrong vibes to Danielle before she even got to know her.
