Kat always heard that kids started developing memories at the age of five.

She never really gave it much thought though.

She always swore she would never do anything to permanently scar her children.

And it was going good for the most part- there was never an incident with Mateo, Theo or Aurora.

She was sure they were all good- until they weren't.

"What if they wake up?" Kat asked between kisses but Tom just continued to kiss her passionately, his hands roaming her body.

"They won't. They're your children. They wouldn't wake up."

"Listen you little-" Kat was cut off with a squeal after Tom managed to throw her on the bed.

What they didn't know was that while Parker was fast asleep clutching his spider-man pillow, Peter was wide awake after a nightmare so rudely interrupted his nap time.

He wanted nothing more than to wake up his brother and tell him all about it but he found himself getting out of bed and heading towards his parents room instead.

He didn't bother to knock- that concept not being a thing to him yet but he stopped short when he actually saw his parents, it feeling like his nightmare was coming true at the sight.

"Daddy, why are you hurting mummy?"

Tom immediately jumped back from Kat who attempted to use the blanket to cover them.

"Bebe- I- what are you doing up?"

Peter fought back tears as he shook his head, "Daddy was hurting you mummy."

"Crap- no- baby boy. I wasn't. I swear I wasn't."

"Mummy..."

"Baby. I'm fine. Daddy wasn't hurting me. I- we were playing a game."

"Why would you-"

"A game?" Peter's eyes immediately lit up as he approached the bed.

"Yes- but- a grown up game. Babies can't play."

"But I'm not a baby!"

"Bebe-"

"I'm gonna wake up Parker! He'll say we're not babies!"

"Don't you dare- Peter!"

"You still don't have clothes on," Tom stopped her before she could chase after him.

"Right," she groaned, the two racing to get clothes on until they heard Parker's cries.

"Mami!"

"Fucks sake. I told you, Tom. I told you-"

"I'm sorry," he mumbled, "It's not my fault you looked so good today."

"I was wearing a tank top and jeans."
