"It's been two weeks. Don't you think it's time to admit defeat?"

"Never," Kat mumbled, continuing to hold Theo close as she breast fed her.

It was five o'clock in the morning and the two realized quickly that the twins were nothing like Kat when she was a baby.

They slept for some time but eventually woke up as early as four o'clock even when the two just managed to put them down to bed at midnight.

Kat was exhausted all the time and wanted nothing more than her mother's help but she did not want to give in to her mother.

"Baby, it's okay to admit that you were wrong- why are you crying?"

"Y-you probably think I'm a horrible mother."

"What? Baby no I don't-"

"You just said I'm wrong!"

"Cause you are. You can't do this alone but that doesn't make you a horrible mother. You're just tired and shouldn't be doing this alone."

"You don't get it. If I admit that I'm wrong to her, I'll never hear the end of it."

"Maybe you shouldn't hear the end of it."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I'm just saying you shouldn't be so stubborn," Tom stopped short, knowing Kat wasn't particularly happy with that term, "I'm tired. I shouldn't be help accountable for my words."

"Uh huh- get out."

"What? Babe-"

"Get out!"

Tom sighed but still went to listen, going to grab Mateo when Kat glared at him, "Leave him."

"Babe-"

"No voy a repetirme, Thomas."

Tom sighed deeply but listened nonetheless, leaving Kat alone in their room with the twins as she fought back tears.

Tom found himself asleep on the couch until he was woken up by Magdalena who smiled softly at him.

"Breakfast is ready."
