"What if it turns out I'm not pregnant?"

Tom continued to read the magazine in his hands, not letting any of Kat's nervous thoughts get to him.

"You took ten tests and they all came out positive- I'd say you're pretty pregnant."

"Bu-but what if they were all false positives?"

"They weren't false positives."

"How do you know?"

"I just do."

"Tommy," Kat whined, making him finally put his magazine down to look at her.

The first thing he did was put his hand on her leg to stop her from bouncing it.

"Stop freaking out."

"Don't tell me what to do!"

"Breath baby," Tom mumbled, leaning his forehead against hers, "Relax."

Kat took a deep breath, closing her eyes and doing as he said.

"Everything's going to be okay. You have nothing to worry about. They're just gonna check on our baby, give you all the information you need. And- beautiful... we get to see him today."

Kat opened her eyes at that, smiling for the first time that day, "You said him."

Tom nodded, brushing her hair back, "Only for today since you're so nervous. But tomorrow she goes back to being my baby girl."

"Your son's gonna be real pissed when I tell him you wanted him to be a girl."

"Or is your daughter going to be pissed when I tell her you wanted a boy?" Tom raised an eyebrow.

Kat narrowed her eyes at him, "Let's make a deal. Whoever's right does not tell kiddo that the other wanted the opposite sex. Deal?"

"I mean, where's the fun in that-"

"When has the mother ever been wrong, Thomas? Or better yet, when have I ever been wrong?"

"I-"

"Offer's gonna expire in 3... 2..."

"Fine!" He groaned, putting the magazine to the side, "You win. It's a deal."

"Good," she beamed, leaning over to lay her head on his shoulder, "Have you thought of any middle names?"

"I... I was supposed to start thinking of them already?"

"Yeah, that'd be ideal. They already have their first names. I'd like to have their full name as soon as possible."

"Why so you can buy them useless personalized things that will just go in the trash in a couple of years?"

"I- they'll be saved for memories sake!"

Tom chuckled a bit, wrapping his arm around her shoulder, "I dunno... what about no middle name? I like the names you chose. As long as they have my last name, I don't really care for a middle name."
