Kat laid there in shock, the moment definitely being a random surprise- like Tom promised, but still in a good way.

In their own way.

"You're not fucking with me, right?" She whispered, her eyes locked on the diamond ring.

"No," he chuckled, leaning his chin on her shoulder, "Will you be my wife, Katalina Perez? Will you do me the honors of being Mrs.-"

"Yes!" she squealed, turning around in his arms completely and attacking him with a kiss- her sleepiness long forgotten of.

Except when she woke up the next morning to the sunlight shining in the room, she could've sworn she fell asleep immediately and just dreamt the whole thing, especially after seeing she was still cuddling Tom like she was the night before.

But when she lifted her hand to run her fingers through her boyfriend's long and messy hair- she stopped when she saw the same ring from her dream sitting on her ring finger.

"Holy fuck."

What she had thought was just a dream initially all came back to her as actual memories as she continued to admire the ring.

The way Tom slipped the ring on her finger after asking her yet again to be his wife.

The way she clung onto him for dear life when she finally felt the sleepiness get to her again after that giant rush of emotions.

And the way Tom told her he couldn't wait to make her his forever before finally falling asleep too.

"We're engaged," she whispered, mostly to herself as she intertwined her hand with Tom's.

"We are," his tired deep voice suddenly snapped her out of her little daze, "Speaking of, can we get married today?"

"What?" Kat chuckled, looking away from their hands to look up at him.

"I don't want to spend another minute without you as my wife, Katalina Perez."

"Aw," she cooed, "As cute as that is, you know both our families would kill us if we did that."

"Fine," he sighed dramatically, "Wait. How long do you think you'd need to plan a wedding?"

"I dunno. Believe it or not, I've never actually gotten married before."

"Wow is this the abuse I signed up for?"

"For the rest of your life," Kat giggled as she moved to straddle him, "And a bunch of kisses."

Tom laughed when Kat littered his face with kisses.

He was only able to stop her by moving his face to capture her lips with his.

He loved every moment of that morning, the two spending it inside, but it wasn't just any ordinary day but this time was special because this was them the for the first time as an engaged couple.

He didn't want to but he knew they had to leave their little 'engaged bubble' sooner or later.

Kat put her hair up in a messy bun as Tom placed the necklace on her in the elevator, "Why do you have to wear your engagement ring like this again?"

"You do know my family, right? How do you think they're gonna react if the press finds out we're engaged before they do?"

"They'd murder us both before we even got the chance to get married," Tom frowned, "See, this is why we should just get married today."

"You really want to get us both killed," Kat giggled when they exited the elevator on the ground floor.

"We hope you had a lovely stay, Mr. and Mrs. Holland."

The two thanked the worker before getting into their waiting car where Kat was a smiling mess.

"I kinda actually really loved the sound of that. Mrs. Holland."

"Imagine how much better it'll sound by the end of the day."

She laughed now shoving him, "Stop with your jokes."

"It isn't a joke," he whined, "I want to marry you before the end of the year."

"Yeah right," she scoffed, "Baby, we're in November. No way can we plan a wedding before January."

"Why not?" Tom now pouted, "People have done weddings way fast."

"Yeah, maybe if they were pregnant which I am not."

"I mean, if that's all that you need," he wiggled his eyebrows, leaning forward to kiss her neck, leaving Kat a laughing mess as she attempted to push him away.

"Stop it!" she gasped once she finally got out of his grip, only to freeze when she saw the look on his face, "Are you being serious right now- about the wedding thing?"

"Yeah. I'd really love it if our wedding date was set to December 31st- I'll even help with planning if I have to."

"Excuse me?" Kat gave him a look, "If you have to?"

"No, no. I want to."

"Uh huh. You better," she glared at him playfully, "That being said- no way. December 31st is way too soon."

"As if you haven't already planned out every detail of your wedding," Tom gave her a look.

"I-I mean I have but-"

"Oh. Is this because you want to have a big extravagant wedding? Because I can-"

"No," she quickly interrupted him, "It's not because of that. I could marry you in a Las Vegas chapel with an Elvis impersonator for all I care. I just need you and our friends and family there."

"So what's the problem?"

"Are you... are you sure you're not just rushing things again?"

"I may be rushing it but I promised I'd marry you by the end of the year-"

"I completely relieve you from that promise," Kat quickly interrupted.

Tom gave her a look at that, "I don't want to be relieved. I want to be married. I want you to be my wife. I- I want it all with you, Katalina."

"I'm so in love with you, Thomas Stanley Holland."

Tom didn't even get to respond back when she kissed him, tugging him close to her.

Kat felt her heart race as they kissed, her mind still processing all that he said to her, their plans to get married so soon.

She wasn't scared at all- she was excited and the happiest she's ever been.

They both were.

"Does this mean you're all for getting married on the 31st?" he asked when they finally pulled away.

Kat bit her lip, "Can we make it the first instead? That way we can actually celebrate every month that we're together instead of skipping months and we can be alone and together on January 1st?"

"Fine, but the ceremony starts the 31st so I can still keep my word about marrying you before the year ends."

"Deal," Kat beamed, pecking his lips quickly.

"So this is really happening?" Tom smiled when they pulled away but he still made sure to wrap an arm around her to hold her close.

"This is really happening," Kat confirmed, "We're getting married in about a months time."

"Oh we're going to kill this whole wedding planning thing."

"Are you kidding? We're gonna kill the whole marriage thing."
