"I don't get it."

"What's not to get?"

Kat had Juliet seated in front of her on the kitchen counter while Kris attempted to bake cookies, the two preparing for the family's annual Christmas Eve party.

"If you're not 100% sure of her, why didn't you just tell Tom?"

"So he could be upset and think I didn't try hard enough?" Kat frowned, "No thank you."

"I'm sure he wouldn't get mad."

"Oh, you don't get it. He's like a whole new level of obsessed with her."

"Obsessed?" Kris frowned, "Isn't that concerning?"

"Okay, by obsessed I mean- obsessed for me to be friends with her. She's apparently his best friend and he desperately wants me to get along with her."

"Uh huh," Kris slowly nodded, taking out the cookies one by one to place them on a tray, "But you can't be fully friends with her cause you still think she has a thing for him?"

"Exactly!" Kat sighed, reaching over to grab a cookie but making sure to blow on it before giving it to Juliet, "It's like- she was saying all the right things but I just... I could tell that wasn't the full truth, you know?"

"Kat's intuition."

"I'm not going crazy, right?" Kat asked worriedly.

"From past experience, I don't think so," Kris answered truthfully, "You always seem to know straight off the bat whether you like someone or not and, whether I like to admit it or not, you're always right. So if you don't like her..."

"It's not that I don't like her-"

"You just don't trust her- or her intentions actually."

"Exactly! And I can't tell Tom cause he was so excited when I told him everything went great then he's gonna go film this movie with her-"

"But if he goes and falls for her tricks..."

"I could lose him," Kat frowned, "And I really don't want to lose him."

"But you also have to think... if he can be so easily swayed by her, why do you even want him in the first place?"

"I never actually thought about it that way..."

"That's cause you're too scared to lose him. And I get that- you two are three years into this relationship so obviously you love him but, Katalina, you can live without him if you have to."

Kat frowned, "I know I can- but I don't want to."

Juliet looked up at the adults confused when she finally finished her cookie, reaching out to grab Kat's face seeing the sad look on her face.
